We were thinking of taking Sat and Sun off from taking our supplements.  Does anyone else have any type of routine in this regard?  And is it good to do this?

Thank you.

Dr D recommends taking two weeks off before starting a new regiment of supps...also gives you a feedback loop to see if you notice a difference or not when you are not taking them.

if you are suffering from something chronic that you are trying to control then I would take them on the weekend as well...otherwise there is no harm taking the weekend off...easier on your pocket book as well

I answered your question...if nothing serious then sure take the week end off.

I use the time on the weekend to make more nutritious meals to offset the need or use for vitamins...during the week with time constraints of work it's harder to do so...hence the vitamins come out

I can't imagine taking two weeks off of regular vitamins and minerals.  Have you done that?

And thanks for the info.

Iíve heard it is good to take a break once in awhile, but I havenít regularly.  When I run out sometimes I delay on getting a refill.

Yes I'm doing that now on the Phytocal.   I'm going to order it today however as I need more Protein Bars (Yummy!); my  husband and I split one usually after our lunch meal or if we are out on the road, we have one as a snack.

I usually stop taking supps during my period. I was told by my acupuncturist that the supps are not absorbed (as well) by the body during menstration, and it gives me a chance to take a break once a month.

Let go of resistance; feel appreciation for what is, and eagerness for what is coming.

Personally, it just feels right to take a break from all my supplements every so often (maybe for a week every couple months). It feels like my body gets back into alignment and stuff. (sort of like defragmenting my computer or cleaning my room)

Eventually, I'd like to get to where I don't need any supplements at all!

My vits and supplements run out at different times, and to make purchasing easier, I wait till I'm out of supply completely. That gives me a break of 7-10 days before I replenish my supplies. I notice that I'm sluggish when I'm out of BComplex, LCarnitine & L Tyrosine. Without the chlorella, bowel movements are slower too. I now know that these are supplements essential for me, as I dont eat meat & fish. In an world we shouldnt have to depend on supplements and vitamins to enjoy good health, but... ...

I take NAP supplements such as ARA6, Harmonia, and Deflect on a daily basis.

I may take dandelion and other liver supporting supplements such as Promikon-L for several weeks (usually anywhere from four to eight weeks, but this is not a set rule).  I am trying to take a two week break after using a supplement for this length of time as recommended in many of the ER4YT Health Series books; then I switch to another type of liver supporting supplement, currently I only want to take one liver supporting supplement at a time.
