Hi .. I'm not sure what is happening with my bowels.  I've had IBS for quite some time now and I'm trying to trace back to what changed when it started.

Has anyone had any negative reaction, like diherrea, to Harmonia?

I make a drink of Recharge (grape electrolyte drink), juice of one lemon, 1 tbl ProBerry and 1 tbl Harmonia.

Today, I took this drink as an afternoon snack and started to have acid tummy and then the runs came again about 45 min after drinking it.

I'm going to try to stay away for a few days and see how my body reacts.  But if anyone else has had a similar experience to green vegi/friut powders or has any other ideas about this, please advise!

Thank you all.

Recharge (grape electrolyte drink)..
write down all the ingredients in your drink pls, that might be the culprit....

I would eliminate the lemon juice first( I think this is the cause) and then the recharge, and then the proberry to see if it truly is the harmonia

Recharge has:

Filtered Water, Concord Grape, White Grape and Apple Juice Concentrates, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt

I have drank Recharge for along time with no ill effects.

Natural Flavors are a bunch of chemical components......ask the company.
I have stopped eating grapes since those were down graded in the health series book aging and menopause, to name a few........I m sure you do not have that problem either, right?

What problem?  Menopause?  Is Menopause a 'problem?'  Is 'aging' a problem?

Interesting choice of words for things that happen naturally and can be really a great time of life for alot of people.

At any rate, I have ordered Dr. D's book on Menopause as I am approaching that age.

Too bad about the grapes... I love this Recharge.

I will ask the company.  I buy the Recharge at Wild Oats and Whole Foods.  I know that doesn't mean anything but I'm sure it's better than other electrolyte drinks out there!

From KnudsenJuices.com Faqs page on their Recharge Drinks:

What are natural flavors?

Natural flavors are botanical ingredients that add interest to juices by enhancing their distinctive characteristics. Like spices in a cook's cupboard, these flavorings add complexity and zest to many of R.W. Knudsen Family's juices and blends.

What do natural flavorings contain?

Our natural flavorings are exclusively derived from botanical sources. As important as what natural flavors contain is what they don't contain. Knudsen's natural flavors contain no refined sugars, no preservatives, no artificial flavors, petroleum derivatives, and no monosodium glutamate (MSG).

All of Knudsen's suppliers provide signed affidavits, certifying that their products do not contain any of the aforementioned "unnatural" ingredients. This certification is one way that we can be sure that suppliers meet R.W. Knudsen's strict criteria.

hey funkymuse, how are you doing so far? getting any better? your problem sounds exactly like what happened to me, it seems to come out of nowhere. it doesn't seem like it would be the Harmonia, because you said you have been doing that for a while w/out any problem, so it is probly something else. for me, i think it was incorporating lamb into my diet...ground lamb. my body did not really digest that too well and so it stopped me up. i didnt realize until about 2 weeks later i had a serious problem. hopefully you are getting better, but i found a good colon cleanse always helped me out. it completely moved me right along, and..stopping lamb..things are staying that way for now. one thing might have aggravated your symptoms because you might be one of those ppl, like me, who are susceptible to this IBS. i had the acid as well, but that goes away when you get rid of IBS. HOpe you find what works and what does not! Best of luck!

So they didn't answer your question about 'natural flavorings.' Too clever!

Almost everything on my Avoid list is a natural substance - they just hapen to be toxic to me.

I too get days when my body seems to need to flush. I can't always figure out the cause but I suspect for me it's part of the cleansing process. (i've only been at this since Jan.)  When it's over I feel so much better and only then have realized that I have been feeling out of sorts for days.

I'm learning to be more aware of my bodies needs and signals. If I sence I'm getting sluggish I take aloe vera. Also taking magnesium helps us A's.

Yes Ben.. it really started with the lamb.  I was using ground lamb in my meatloaf.   I've been off of it and the IBS has almost all gone away.  I think my tummy is still irritated however.  Here's what happened:  last weekend we didn't take our supp's.  By Monday, I had full healthy bowel movements with no sign of the IBS.  Monday we started back on the supp's and by wed, my tummy was hurting again and a bit of runs started.  So I hope it's not my supp's and just that the IBS has just made my bowel sensitive.  Thoughts?

And speaking of 'gosh I wish I could believe half of what they say!!!'  well, I always have wondered from time to time about  believing any food claims such as the ground beef behind the counter that says organic 5% fat, etc., etc.  When I get home, half of it cooks away as water.

One has to eat as compliant as they can 'trusting' that the products that they buy and enjoy according to their types are as safe as the label says.

We all could pick on almost everything and question it all because it is all based on trust that what the labels say is correct.  But how do we really know?

I'd go insane if I worried about everything I ate that looked and said it was compliant with my blood type and requirements.

And also, I never ask Knudson about the natural ingredients.. I only went on that website and found that information on their Faqs page.  So there is nothing 'clever' about them not answering me as I never ask.
