There was a thread awhile back about ways to help lessen scarring. I can't seem to find it, but if I remember correctly...someone was saying that taking a certain herb/supplement both before and after surgery would help lessen scarring.
Does anyone have any information about this? |

Put Vitamin E on the scar. I assume you would wait some time after surgery, not the first few days, weeks.

I understand the product Mederma works. There is also a product called Scargo by (I think) Home Health. Vitamin E alone will not do it.

I believe 100% pure rosa mosqueta oil and vitamin e would assist with bodily external scarring.

Emu oil is also wonderful moisturizer and a great healer !! I've been using it for years http://www.pure-emu-oil.com/emu-oil-scars.html
I've heard that emu oil works wonders, but I didn't know anyone who had used it! How long does the bottle last? |

Hi, Actually, it all depends on how big the scar is and how often/how much u use ... however; a little drop goes a VERY long way ... and less is better, since it's important NOT to saturate the scar with the oil ... hence I would have to say that although the bottle is quite expensive, it lasts a loooong time Another important point to remember; do NOT apply to an open wound; it's always best to wait till it's closed. Cheers |
