I utilized the Supplement Determintor on the website and it can be quite a lot to take in.  I am Type B, overweight and have asthma.  I am waivering back and forth between purchasing the Weight Loss Pack along w/Quercetin, Redoxa and a PolyVite.  OR to purchase just the Deflect, Quercetin, Redoxa and a Ployvite.  Has anyone tried the Weight Loss Pack, and are the additional items that much more of a benefit?  

The rage of weight loss is cortosol these days, has anyone used the Cortiguard and noticed benefits?  Thank you so much!

Why not check into your member center (the link is located at the top right of the page), scroll down until you find Avatar settings, and pick out a beautiful BTD shield avatar.  This makes it much easier for the other members to answer your questions; no one has to ask you each time you post a question.

Before anyone makes any recommendations, can you share with us how long you've been on the BTD program, have you had your secretor status tested, and how compliant are you to your diet?

Hi,

I have also had problems with my lungs.  Once you have been eating for your blood type for a while and follow the frequency listed for the foods, you will see your weight come off.

Please let us know how long you have tried this new way of eating and I am sure you will have a lot of help here.

As for supplements.  If your lungs are really bothering you, it looks like you have picked some good ones to start of with. I have had bronchitis many times and pneumonia.  I also cannot be in an indoor pool because the chlorine kills my sensitive tissues and it really hurts me for a while.

This type of healing takes time.  In my opinion, you are on the right track with finding out how to eat right for your type and detoxification and nutrition for healing.  However, because of your situation, it would do you a lot of good to make it a priority to pay for the secretor test.  I waited a year and I am glad I finally did it because white and brown sugar are avoids for me now as a non-secretor.  This makes all the difference in the world for my healing.

Thank you for the signature help and shield info.  

I have not yet done my secreter status, but do have the kit at home (i believe).

I adhered strictly to the BTD approximately 2 years ago for about 8 months.  No suppliments however, and worked from the ER4YBT book, i do not recall reading about frequency of foods.  I felt great, but still not at ideal weight, although smaller than i am now (sz. 14), was a sz 10.  

I am not sure what happened, maybe most of my avoids were my most eaten foods.  But still i was very strict.  However, was not able to go the distance.  

I am ready to try again, and continue to recall how much better i felt.  Perhaps i tried to be too strict and thus set myself up for failure.  I would like to incorporate the supplements, and have been through the tutorial.  

I purchased my secreter test two years ago.  I am going to go home after work and check to see if it has an expiration date.  If not, i will do that this weekend.  Perhaps that will be the key to a more successful weight loss and general feeling of well being.

I do work out, no less than 3x a week.  I do 25-30 minutes of high level aerobic, and then lift weights.  Consequenly i weigh more than i look.  I have a good deal of muscle mass (under the fat of course!   )

Since you are dealing with a health challenge, I highly recommend you invest in the secretor test.  Foods change value from allowed to avoid from secretor to non-secretor.  Victoria, who is also a Type B and a nonnie, says that her diet changed, and that change made a markable difference in how she felt.  It is my firm belief that you will experience
a noticable difference in your results, once you are able to follow the diet for your specifc subtype.

And, because of your Rh- status, some foods rating will be affected for you because of that subtype (noted in Live Right 4 Your Type.  You frequency for meat and poultry increase by one serving weekly being Rh-, and your servings of grains and starches decreases by one serving weekly.  

Portion sizes and frequency values were outlined in ER, and are further broken down by subtypes in Live Right 4 Your Type.

Knowledge is power.  Knowing your secretor status will be the key to finally unlocking and solving your health challenges.  I firmly believe this.

You should also consider looking into one of Dr. D's Health Series books, specifically the Allergies book.  In the health series books, the food values are broken down even further into five categories, which fine tunes your diet even more, eliminating those borderline foods for that particular health challenge.

I have looked and do have a secreter test at home, from my purchase a year and half ago.  I am going to take it and send it off on Monday.

I also misquoted the book i was using it was Live R4YBT.  I re-read the B prescription again this morning.  I now notice the frequency...  Ahhhhh, perhaps a cup of cottage cheese every day along w/ various other cheeses every day isn't the best way to loose weight!    

My favorite foods are mostly avoids, however i still have some very good choices, except (in my opinion) the meat department.  I love beef, turkey and i'll eat buffalo, but those are nuetrals.  Not sure i can handle the "beneficials".  

I have ordered the individual items noted in my first post (not the weight loss package).  And i am off to the Fresh Market to purchase the proper fruits and veggies.  I also have a small list of things for the vitamin aisle - not sure about purchase - i don't want to overload right away.  I am also NOT a fan of pill taking, and i usually have a problem following through.  I need to work on this and may rely on these forums for support.  

I also have all but cut out beer (liquer two years ago when i first started), but am reluctant to give up my wine.  I still have an occasional beer when shooting in a tournament.  

I AM going to make this lifestyle change and i AM going to make this work!

Hi Dressage!
That's great that you're going to get your secretor type!  I believe it will add a lot of power to your program.  My experience was that a lot of missing pieces fell into place and I was able to see how I was messing up my health even though I "thought" I was eating right for my type.  Secretors have different needs than nonnies.

Grains and dairy can be a tricky road to walk.  Especially with those two, really watch your frequency and portions recommendations.  I have gradually discovered that I do best with minimal grains.  I don't eat any of the gluten containing grains.  Besides the fact that they hurt my digestion, they also pack on the weight.  Rice is the only grain I eat, and that's only a toasted rice cake everyday.

As much as you can, try and focus on meats, fish, vegetables, cultured dairy, and mostly beneficial fruits.  In fact, any of those that you can eat in the beneficial category will do you so much good.  Neutrals will keep us alive, but only beneficials will build true health.  Avoids are poisons, so don't forget!

I know it's really hard to not just focus on weightloss, but the truth is, a truly healthy body naturally gravitates toward it's ideal weight.  If you lose weight, but don't achieve stable health, your weight will climb back up again.  We all know the routine!

Many blood type A's have taken Cortiguard to reduce stress levels in their lives.  Incorporating alternate nostril breathing is beneficial in aiding to reduce stress, as well.

Hi Nancy and welcome.
I agree on everything Victoria wrote.Watch the grains the grains...

I´m another B that is not that keen on the beneficial meats.
I live with an O so I get mainly neutral meats; veal, beef and turkey
- maybe once a month a bit of lamb... and I think that is OK
- IF you focus on beneficials in the other food groups.

The only way I can loose weight( I know that after a loong while on BTD) is - cutting grains to a minimum- and only using beneficial grains.
Cutting sugar in every day life( Ok in small ammount in the wekend)
and NOT overdoing dry fruit and too many fruits in general(  stay around 3 a day )
- and make sure I get enough protein - 1 source in every meal.
Eggs, cheese, beans, fish, meat, nuts in moderation)

1 thing that seem to mean less is fat - I seem to crave starch and suagr if I eat low fat yoghurt or forget to dress my vegetable with oliveoil or ghee.
Of course fat should still not be overused...

And NOT worry too much- remember to relax/ meditate / go /ride in nature and built up this balance that seem to be so important for B´s.

Wow, you guys are great!  Thank you!  

I have sent in my secreter test today, oh i'm really hoping i'm a secreter.  

I have to say it becomes quite complicated, eating correctly.  I went shopping this yesterday and bought a lot of fish and some beef and turkey.  Many fresh vegtables and fruits as well.  I understand what you are saying Henriette, that the fruits contain a lot of sugars.  I am going to make sure i adhere to the recommendations.  

What i find difficult is planning each day's mini-meals (6 of them).  I can't have cheese or fruit each day, otherwise i would exceed the 3-5 times a week.  So what i think i'm going to do is cut out little squares of paper with the food group written on it, as many as i am allowed each week and try to put together a 7 day meal plan.  

I am going to keep reading, researching, learning and applying.  Here's to rice!  I do have oatmeal each morning, but have cut out other grains.  I'm going to purchase ezekiel bread this weekend as well, for when i want that piece of toast.

Lola, i just went to Sante J's postings and found this interesting comment regarding the TYPEBASE being incorrect for Tier 1 followers, in as it shows some Tier One Nueturals as "Avoids" because it is only listing Tier Two components.  This was the posting name: 03/20/2006: TYPEBASE "Cover-Up": Tier One "Neutrals" Listed As "Avoids"  

Ugh - now i am more confused.  I have copied the text in below.  There is a section for each blood type.  That would mean if i were a tier one follower i could actually each pork products and artichokes.  

Any thoughts?
