Would folks suggest supps for overactive stomach acid? I need something more powerful than DGL. |

I worry about the bentonite clay in Gastroleve. I've read that it soaks up nutrients.
I'd like to have some other choices, if possible. |

Sparkling mineral water before meals. Gerolsteiner is ideal. |

Thanks for your suggestions! More fucus is a good thought. I used to eat a lot more sushi, and all that seaweed seemed to soothe my stomach. Since I've moved to Seattle I'm having trouble finding good sushi so don't eat as much any more. I usually take one fucus capsule in the morning. Maybe one more would do the trick. And yes, I love carbonated water, but lately it hasn't been effective. Gerolsteiner is great! Pellegrino may be my all time favorite. I know my two bad habits are exacerbating the problem: eating on the run and 85 percent chocolate (a neutral for O's, but acidic). |

I'm a bit fanatical about reading ingredient lists. The chocolate I eat (Lindt) is nothing but chocolate, sugar, and vanilla. Another of my favorites is Endangered Species, 88 percent. They use beet sugar as a sweetener. Even at 88 percent, it's almost too sweet. |

sugar is not your best choice, depending on issues, health challenges, age, etc......
