What works best for you? Taking suppliments on an empty stomach, with a meal, after a meal, or during the interim period between lunch & dinner. I know that individuality plays a huge role..but am curious. I have the following suppliments and would like to know which one works best when:
Dandelion Root (500mg) Bromelain (500mg) Maca (500mg) Chlorella (200mg) B Complex Vit C (1000MG) Calcium Glucosamine Sulphate* Super L-Carnitine* L-Tyrosine*
(*the last 3 I'll take during my workout, together with the Rice Protein powder)
1. Dandel. before or after a meal 2.Bromelain = if you take it during meals it serves as a digest. help...and than only between....... 3.Maca= after meals 4.Chlorella...after meals 5.B-complex after & between meals 6. Vit C in such amounts always after meals, if not you might get a burning feeling in y.stomach 7. Ca. after meals 8.Glucosamine sulph. between meals 9. Super L-Carnitine after meals and between the meals L'Tyrosine= after meals or between, too

AC, it's a pain, but currently I'm taking as many as 12 different supps; some with meals, some in between. I have them organized in a wicker basket, based on with or without food, and I've written on their lids how many to take. This has helped me to remember.
If I take supplements, I prefer whole foods or a powder type of formula. I always take supplements with food, because I do not swallow capsules. I get vegetarian capsules and twist the cap and pour the contentsd into my food or an empty bowl.
Your supplements that you are taking should have directions on when to take them.

Drea, Alia Vo: I asked for recommendations based on personal use. For eg., Bromelain-some take it during a meal, some on an empty stomach. Another eg., is B Complex. When I was using NAP B12, it was recommended that I take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
I was curious to know how suppliments worked for those who chose to take them at preferred times...and not necessarily what is suggested on the bottle.
Drea, I have pill boxes with me, so organising them would be easy.
In regards to taking bromelain, it is recommended that one take it between meals for anti-inflammatory purposes or for pain: http://www.dadamo.com/protocols/4.html
As a digestive aid, one usually takes it during or after eating a main meal.

Waiting for more responses!
I take Bromelain & B-complex on an empty stomach. Seem to be fine with that.

I take B12 early in the day about 15 minutes before my meal.
All other vitamins and mineral supplements, I take with my meals. I prefer the beginning of the meal instead of the end of the meal, so the supplements digest with the food instead of sitting on top of it and making me burp.
The other B vitamins, also early in the day because they can be stimulating and keep me awake. Always with food. The Niacin can make you flush if you have an empty stomach. And they can all cause nausea in sensitive people.
I consider chlorella to be a food and take it with food (in my smoothie).
I take Maca on an empty stomach or in my morning smoothie.
Bromelain is on an empty stomach since I take it as an anti-inflammatory.
