I wrote awhile back about my husband (an A) having symptoms related to prostate problems who would not see a doc. He finally visited the doc and now is on antibiotics for a prostate infection. In the course of the visit he also learned that he has hypertension. He would be interested in supplement recommendations. And now he's taking a close look at the BTD. Yay!

Even a small weight loss will often help reduce blood pressure levels.  Does he snore at night?  Sleep apnea can also be associated with hypertension as well as increased risk of stroke, etc.

Yes, he snores but sleeps well. He is not overweight, but he could not absorb the idea that an A doesn't need to eat any meat. What is the protein source for A's?

The BTD has been the best thing for my prostate problem I've tried a lot of supplements over the years  and didn't really feel any did much? You might have him read my testimonial I posted this week end.

Blood type A secretors can obtain adequate protein from plant sources found in soy, beans and legumes; as well as, poultry such as turkey, chicken, squab, cornish hen; eggs, limited cultured dairy options, nuts and seeds; and a variety of beneficial and neutral fish.

Please refer to Typebase for the many varieties of fish offered:
http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/typeindexer.htm

Blood type A non-secretors have more options in terms of the variety of meat that are allowed, as well as more egg servings per week.

If he can have a sleep study done, that may shed some light on how serious his sleep problem is....instead of that, I recommend he consider doing the BTD for 2-3 months and see if his hypertension and snoring vanish.

I'm sure that adding certain minerals ( I forgot which ones as my BP is normal ) & some B vitamins.  In other words, a good vitamin-mineral supplement may help along with more exercise.  Also, with adding good food, you must subtract the bad!
I wish him well.  I takes time, but is worth it.
Oh yes, chocolate without the sugar seems to lower BP!
Try the old faithful black chocolate (instead of black coffee) in the morning!!!
