because I caved in and took the antibiotics.      It's going on 2 wks since I've been fighting this w/ everything imaginable and was still losing.  I've been thinking how Rodney wound up w/ pneumonia and sure don't want to go down that path. Then I was up early this morning reading, again, where even a respiratory condition can cause serious medical problems (that I don't even want to think about) if your adrenals are exhausted/failing. Add to that what the stress of being sick and fighting so long w/ this, is doing to my adrenals and I felt like I didn't have much choice but to do the dirty deed and then just clean up afterwards.  
I see in the Antibiotic Support Protocol, it lists something I'm not familiar with and wondered IF I can find it today, since I took my first antib last night and I'm only taking 3 (but they will last in my system for 7-10 days, I think it says), should I take 1 for each of the remaining days of actual pills and then 1 for each day it is effective? This is the one in question:

You're making the best decision in a lousy situation while considering things from all angles. Unfortunately, sometimes, we do have to choose the lesser of two evils.

Take your probiotics BETWEEN antibiotic doses. Your body will regain its equilibrium. I believe the greatest adverse effects are when people do NOT replenish their intestinal flora after taking antiobiotics and repeated non-judicious use of same. You are committing niether of these great sins.

Myra, I did have the thought to do so, but don't even know what that is, tho I'm guessin' it's good since the Dr ordered it. .
What I have it the generic Z-Pac (3 pk) Azithromycin.  I take this when I have to (if it's suitable) because it's only 3 pills (to remember to take that is).  I am even more leary of antib's since I read that article (the one I posted) about that lady dying.        But, unlike all the years before BTD, I know to follow up w/ the pro-bi's and will be doing so, heavily.
LuHu, I'll be sure to take them between meals   and since the antib's are  only one a day, I'll be doing the pro-bi's several times a day!  
Janet, I'll talk to that slave drivin' boss and see what he can do for me .  Actually, we'll be off tomorrow, so that gives me 3 days to try and kick this before I have to be back here.

Pat, azithromycin is what I took when I had that double-ear infection last February (which I only knew I had due to the vertigo it caused).  Prior to that course of azithromycin, I had not taken any antibiotics in years.  I was glad to take it and glad to have a double ear infection, believe me, as opposed to all the other things that vertigo could be caused by.  There are indeed times that antibiotics are wonder drugs.  That said, I'm convinced that the azithromycin led to the subsequent "bacterial overgrowth" I sported (and possibly still sport, as I refused to go on the Flagyl that nunudoc wanted to put me on for that).  I would suggest that, once your course of azithromycin is completed, take probiotics, including acidophilus.

Very good.  Wish I'd consulted the antibiotic protocol when I took them.  I have the Encyclopedia and, would you believe, it didn't occur to me that there might be an antibiotic protocol in there?  I'm glad it occurred to you and that you are following the suggs to a T.

Hope you are feeling better soon.  Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to knock out the bacteria.   The last thing you need to be doing is stressing over the idea of antibiotics.  Sometimes you just need the meds!

Those enzymes you mentioned, Italy, are sold under the name Wobenzyme in natural food stores.

My MD prescribes 2 Z-Paks (5-Day) when I have a sinus infection.  I take one pak as directed, wait 3 days, and take the next pak for the next 6 days.

This is the only antibiotic that works for me with a raging sinus infection, and. for me, one pak does not do the trick--must be two.

However, Guess What?!!  I have not had a sinus infection since starting BTD!!

Woweeee!!!!!!!! Myra - you're a stubborn one.    TWO  Z-packs!!  Just glad you are not plagued w/ them anymore. I can seriously say this should be my last for a long time. I will make it my business to know where there will be smoke and avoid it. The baptismal thing just really caught me off guard, but no more.  

mikeo, funny you should mention eating more Vit K.  .   Doubt I'll need to worry about that much, as my Vit K was way up last blood work. From all the veggies.  Thanks for the mention.

PT, you mentioned taking acidophillus, which has always been my probiotic of choice. Funny thing tho, I noticed this particular dophillus is not in the Polyflora O, which leads me to believe I have not been taking the best thing I could've been, but who knew?

Also, re: a comment from the NP.  He said since I'm taking this 3 PK that the antib's are SO strong I would be wasting my pro-bi's    by taking them right now.  That I should just wait. Unfortunately we got off on the Shawn Hornbeck thing before clarifying what he meant by that. 3 days or 7?  While I can see the sense in what he's saying, I'm not sure I should follow that advice. I know a lot of the pro-bi is killed before it reaches the intestine.  Precisely why I used to take Primadophillus, on the occasions I did. It is enteric coated (triple coated), so that most of it is still in tact when it reaches the colon/intestines. Just wondering w/ this strong a drug, if any would survive.  As pro-bi's are pretty costly, I certainly don't want to waste them. On the other hand..............  What do you all think?
