ALERT!!!!  I had injured my left shoulder February over a year ago.. I over stretched the arm and it pained me on movement, and sleeping on the side was painful until now 16 month later.

Then I had the heart looked at, because of my high pulse rate, of 90 for years, and found that I needed 2 stents in my heart.  They where done Wednesday of this week, today is Saturday.....

Last night I slept on my left side and woke up with 99% of the pains gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am surprised, as I never connected my heart to my injury!!! until now!

I had constant pain for this 16 month , and treated it by all sort of intervention.. Some I truly did need for the stretched Ligaments, BUT in the end the longest lasting 'muscle' pain was from my heart!!!!!!

Please all who read this ... remember the pain for damage to the heart, must not be sharp or sudden, it can be lasting and only upon movement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had other symptoms like tiredness, like shortness of breath, I never connected my heart to my shoulder injuries pain, nor did anyone else!  And that is why I make Yet another posting about my recent experience.   Live and learn, my experience is on eye opener! Heart pain might look like chronic pain for a long time before one has the heart attack!

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Your doctor or cardiologist never alluded to you that chronic pain in your left arm/shoulder could be a symptom of a potential heart problem? Really?

This has got me wondering re muscle pain and the heart!!   Just said to my (55yr old) Hunter husband that he might need to get his heart checked?!

Although not having any noticeable heart problems, he does have those horizontal creases in his ear lobes?! As well as that, both his Mum and his brother were only in recent years each diagnosed with a hole in their hearts!! He has been experiencing quite severe pain in the front of his thighs, whenever he exerts himself even mildly (even walking 20 mins to the car, or doing vaccuuming) and walks with a noticeable limp

A year ago during an overseas trip, he was beginning to get the leg fatigue and was having noticeable muscle spasms in his thighs (symptoms of magnesium deficiency?) The spasms decreased as we upped the mag, but the tendency for pain hasn't ever really gone away...

Following that trip he saw his Dr but has never got around to having any further testing (partly due to too many trips away and way too much work on) Tnhe soon after that episode, he went through a particularly stressful few months at work and started having anxiety attacks and difficulty breathing and sleeping This culminated in him deciding to retire as soon as he could (for various reasons)

Although he doesn't seem to be getting out of breath at all - (so probably not heart related), after your experience Goldie, I'd rather not take chances?!

YES YES YES... this is why I made a New Thread.. Learn from all my and your different situations..

Today I am near certain that the heart is involved in all the described symptoms.

I think the heart is way overlooked or only addressed with : we need a pill and all is well.  NOT!!!!

My husband was over weight and had all sort of symptoms and he was EXPECTED to die early and he died.. Case closed!!!!!

This should never have been the case.. Today I see how negligent the whole medical field is in dealing with the heart. and weight in some people.

A pill is just not the right way to go.. GO have a Close LOOK..  a pill is a brdge.. not a CURE!!!!

I had to go to the doctor three times to get three different tests done.. I think after 40 everyone might just need all three tests being administered in one day, reviewed and repeated every 5 years.  I think now looking back I might have had to need intervention 20 years ago.  I chose to ignore the signs, but I was ignorent!

20 Years ago I was 'healthy' and OK, but yet my life became ever more limited.  I was stressed physically in small ways, in ways one gets accustomed to.  One over looks and EXPECTS it due to aging and or lifestyle and life length expectations.. ALL those expectations are WRONG.

The fact that I might have died from a heart attack as my husband did 25 years ago is not the issue.  I AM READY to die.  Why, because its expected!!!! we all will and old age is a misery unless one is well and well enough to participate in living.

PAIN prevented me from having a life.. if it was not pain then it was a bad headache every day,

IF it was NO pain then it was stiffness, then it was difficult to wake up for one more day...  and wondering what I ought to do each day to earn my food.  Housekeeping is not enough.

I had volunteered my time for 40 years before, I am tired of doing that, I burnt out.  I can not afford to support a cause with gasoline to and from or some other involvement.

ALL that NOT while I bought a zillion supplements, TRYING to better my life.

WAS all that effort RELATED to my heart ???????????????????????//

I actually think it is so..

I did not take the pills doctors wanted to give me, I wanted to do the right thing and do it with sups, yet I really had little KNOWledge on what I needed.

I spent thousands and might have missed the spot that was suffering.   It could be the kidney or the brain, we are pieces to be treated one at a time.. Something is still not getting through .... we are full bodies, not parts.

YES please go see a heart specialist, the best one known to be good and up to date.. and THINK .. .........we do some.... yet  maybe just spinning our wheels.... ????????

P/S if your husband would be well he would no longer wish to retire.  I would not! not yet.    I would be Healthy enough to reduce my stress, to adjust my stress so as to make it less and care about what is more important.  Take longer weekends instead, work at reduced stress levels, take a cut if need be, but be still and forever productive.

Family becomes more important when you get older.  Friends are fewer, all that needs to be addressed.  Just playing golf is not the answer to feeling unhealthy. Get healthy and then re-evaluate life with PLEASURE as equal to LIVING.   Boredom and 'old' age expectations are all just what used to be, we need to rethink and do so with all type of info at our finger tips.

PP/S.. the place the scientists are failing us is in not finding a pill that will allow us to drop weight -- the old Dexatrim used to work so easy, and then they took it off the market leaving all to flutter in the wind!  Flutter with guilt we do not deserve! Flutter getting sick and sicker.

Now after my operation I am to eat like a Cheetah.. meat protein, meat, protein, and rest in between.. ha ha then hunt the meat down by a 20 minute walk.. Haha....  Just the right diet for me:  I am O.  and just to get enough lifting weight exercise chasing down that deer, I am dragging weights around push up down, crunch and lunge.. and have fun..
