No problem...

I often wonder whether command of the language is the issue when something of this nature occurs.  Another reason to treat everyone with respect and continue to communicate to clear the point.

Ok so I am past meeting all the doctors.. surgery next week and radiology at the same time!!!!! I am really interested in all and will report..

I am feeling great and will change my signature message to say.. NO!!! you can not ever wait til you 'feel' any lumps, to do it right: You need mamograms and sonograms.. then they find the buggers early and all will be well.

The test your breast once a month is outdated! by decades. By the time you would feel a cancer it is wayyyy late.  I found my cancer only because I did a mamogram for a cyst near by.. totally accidental, and not connected. Yet still a 'spot' showed to be in need of attention, and now in need of surgery to remove it!  I got lucky and this will be my mantra from now on..  All is well.

Someone here please say you are going to get tested to make my experience worth while... I certainly never thought I would get cancer, (stupid as grandfather had a tumor growing for two decades on the outside of his ribs age 65 he died from it.. mom, Uterus age 29 / Colon cancer age 80 / Lung cancer age 91, Sister skin under eye lid aand on one ear, age 35 50, niece & nephew skin ages 30, one on the bottom of a foot, age 20 plus, brother throat cancer from smoking age 69,,,I am the first for breast,  Oh well.

My fathers diabetes genes seem easy compared.. I was so sure I was only his child, ridiculous... but I can still laugh out loud.. I got lucky as we all have been so far,.... even my brother might have suffered much more had he lived longer.. lucky for him he died early....

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Goldie, in the meantime try to browse the catalogue of the herbalist Ron Teeguarden

I am writing this because he makes many extraordinary and extremely supportive blends of adaptogens for recuperation from especially difficult conditions and for healing from chronic conditions.

wanthanee.. thanks that was interesting reading..

Curcumin is in my BTD for years, I just never used it.  Now I will.  Thanks!

The connection to breast cancer is interesting.

Jane and other friends here: I have been assured that I will be fine, and if not I am near 70 and I feel well. I am not looking to live forever, just well and somehow contributing to life wherever I can.  By sharing here I am contributing to someone's life, and that is giving my life experience value.

I am going to be on the forefront of a a trial that later on will save many from much more dramatic radiation experiences.  I am something like 70iest on how they will do the radiation.  I am fine with that as the same type of direct radiation was used inside of my mom 68 years ago.  Actually I am feeling very secure.

I lived with moms cancer story all my life, so much so that it is old hat.  What was NEW to me was the idea that I would get it... for some reason I just assumed that I had my fathers genes and only would have to deal with the dread of diabetes.  Cancer just was not in my psyche.. I was not in denial as I responded to changes in my breast right away, but I just was so sure that (with) BTD I would be healthy - so important, that even now I feel much more confident.

Yet, in future I will listen more carefully, and take care to be involved in my SELF care.  I will do the mammograms as directed, and maybe never shut up about the need for them to others who might have been told to relay on 'feeling' during self examinations..   The only thing I felt was a cyst, the cancer was found gratuitous in a nearby spot, size of the spot like this @@.

imagine feeling this! that is MY message....  with love to you all.

Goldie, how many weeks after the operation do they want to start radiotherapy?

Not all medical centers and radiotherapy institutions have the same methods.

yaeli Mine will be done During Surgery, very located 'on' the spot.. @@ .. without damage to other tissue.  My mom had that procedure done 69 years ago, she was the first in her time.. and lived to tell me, so that today I am unafraid.

Isa thanks..

(((hugs))) We love you too!

Finally, I got the book titled, Cancer Fight It with the Blood Type Diet-The Individualized Plan For Preventing and Treating Cancer.

Here is what it says:" Blood Type O Cancer-Fighting Super Foods

Richly oilled cold- water fish. Action- Source of Omega-3 acids
Seaweed
Flax (linseed) oil
Walnut
Fava (Broad) bean
Domestic mushroom
Onion
Broccoli
Garlic
Pomegranate
Guava
Jackfruit
Elderberry
Blueberry
Cherry
Dill weed
Tarragon
Turmeric
Green tea

In addition, Blood Type O requires regular high-intensity exercise to maintain immune strength and metabolic balance."

If possible, please eat the foods on the above list every day.

This time is the season for Jackfruit. Maybe you can find it at your Local farmer's market.

Everytime you eat canned fish, please put minced Garlic (after mincing leave for 10 minutes), Dried Dill weed, DriedTarragon, Dried Turmeric (even better if you can get fresh Turmeric which is more powerful) It might not taste good but that is your medicine.

I am so glad you will see Dr. D soon. Best wishes to you.

Turmeric is only really powerful while its bioavailability is triggered with bioperin....and in therapeutical dosages... this means for ex. 500mg's of curcuma(475mg's of true curcumin) and some 25 mg's of black pepper called bioperin

for normal cases...2-4 capsules daily, I think with your machina you should test yourselve about the needed amounts wish you all the best .......

Meandering about what to do in future.. started writing in the other thread about cancer prevention foods...   Thanks for the lists ... building blocks for this discussion on cancer (my) experience.

For now I am willing .. and more important, able to follow some guidelines by Dr D.    ... I am expounding in my cancer thread..

Lucky so far I like onions, mushrooms as served with the steak served in a specific restaurant, and I like asparagus.  Three items as indicated as good against cancer.  The interesting part of this is that I have been eating them for the last three years, and still some cancer cells have taken root.

So while not discounting the effects, they might have helped not to grow the cancer cells faster, or some other sugar eating that I have done may have caused the cancer to get started, or genetic's took over and created the cancer, or just life created a cancer, whatever, the results are the same.

With my attempts to eat BTD in the best means I can manage mentally, I am only lucky insofar as I followed through with testing.  If I had followed through to do the biopsy as suggested by the first doctor who saw my first mammogram, I might have struggled to eat cancer prevention ways, more often, but as it is a year later I am surgically removing this cancer.

In my cancer - I am at a loss of thinking how I am supposed to be controlling my way of eating, when I am out of control to begin with.

I wish I could be like the counterpart of me that wishes to eat right, and never eat to much of any thing and never what is extra, ,,, but this counterpart of me is not strong enough.  If I was able to be as I wish to be, I would be skinny, I would not reach for foods not good for me, and I would never be hungry, be it mentally nor emotionally, nor physically.

I have no idea what I will do in future, I do know that there has never been a moment in my life when I did not TRY to live life as prescribed, but I fail to do so a million times a day.  I know that diabetes will be my killer, so my heart will give out, and now maybe cancer will get to me later some other place, and even with all those I am not able to deal with my own judgement of failure.

I will live my life to the end, as mom did, and I will be contented that I did the best I could!   My judgement is not mal-intended, it is what it is.  I do wish they the scientists would find a way to radiate the nerve in my stomach that triggers my eating.  I would gladly be the first to try doing this, if I had the hope that it might stop the out of control behavior.

I was able to control my eating behavior for years, until they took the pill off the market for health reasons.. stupid as that decision was, I am certain that many untold thousands of people are over weight because of that decision.  and then again, people with cancer often are skinny.  I am in the end not contemplating what might have been, many things were not as I envisioned, and it really does not matter.

Nothing matters other then my life one day at a time, the rest is up to the Universes plan for one creature among millions. My peace of mind is what offers me health.  I will eat asparagus, and i will eat onions and maybe look up to see which mushrooms are most beneficial.  To do so I have to click on each mushroom look-up and make copies or I will forget which is which.  So be it: a project to be done soon.  I am contented.

If you don’t mine I would like to share some more (in the book of Cancer fight it with the blood type diet for Type O)

“individualized blood type plans

THE BEST WISDOM of both conventional and naturopathic medicine is that regular exercise, including aerobic activity and weight training, is essential to your cancer-fighting strategy. Blood Type O benefits tremendously from brisk exercise that taxes the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system. If you are a cancer patient, you may have to slow down your regimen somewhat, but strive to do as much as you can.

Remember, proper exercise does not tire you out; it gives you energy my blood type O patients who are undergoing chemotherapy often complain that they are too weak to exercise. They are surprised to find that the activity itself makes them feel stronger and more energized.

Physical exercise is also an excellent way to counter the effects of stress. There is a well-known link between cancer ;and stress. High stress levels deplete immune system defenses, especially natural killer (NK) cell activity. For Blood Type O, exercise is necessary to properly process the stress hormones called catecholamines  (most notably, adrenaline), and to balance dopamine levels. Aerobic exercise increases the efficiency of the body’s handling of both dopamine and adrenaline.
Build a balanced routine of both aerobic and strength-training activities from the following chart.

Aerobics           40-60 minutes     3-4 x week
Weight training     30-45 minutes     3-4 x week
Running          40-45 minutes      3-4 x week
Calisthenics     30-45 minutes 3 x week
Treadmill          30 minutes 3 x week
Kick boxing     30-45 minutes      3 x week
Cycling           30 minutes     3 x week
Contact sports     60 minutes     2-3 x week
In-line/roller-skating     30 minutes     2-3 week

Three Steps to Effective Exerc ise

1. Before you begin your aerobic exercise, warm up with a walk, then perform some careful stretching movements to increase flexibility.

2. To achieve maximum cardiovascular benefits, work toward an elevated heart rate that is about 70 percent of your capacity. Once you reach the elevated rate, continue exercising to maintain that rate

For twenty to thirty minutes. To calculate your maximum heart rate and performance level:
•Subtract your age from 220.
•Multiply the difference by .70(or .60 if you are over age 60). This is the high end of your performance.
•Multiply the remainder by .50. This is the low end of your performance.

3. Finish each aerobic session with a cool down of at least five minutes, combining some careful stretehing and flexibility movements with a relaxing walk.

Super-food Snacks
Keep your energy high and your immune system strong with healthy snacks, made from your super cancer-fighting foods: trail mix made with walnuts, dried cherries, and dried blueberries; seaweed salad with sliced mushrooms. Vegetable sushi; mixed berries with soy milk: green tea-hot or iced.

Exercise Regimen
Plan to exercise at least 4 days this week, for 45 minutes each day.
2 days: aerobic activity
2 days: weights
Use your journal to detail the time, activity, distance, and amount of weight. Note the number of repetitions for each exercise.

Off for work now

Goldie, its very nice to meet you. Im sorry your going through so much right now. I dont know if my past will help you in any way but I wanted to both tell you a little, and interoduce myself after reading your post. I have a few more posts to read as well, I didnt get through the entire 3rd page yet and have to run an errand. Some of the things I have mentioned have also been mentioned.

Over the years I have had my eye on things that help fight cancer. I wanted to list some of them for you, but have not cross referenced blood type O.
Peanut skin -the shell under the shell
snail - escargo
coQ10 - repairs cell and helps prevent cancer growth

Some things to lower estrogen, because sugar and estrogen feed cancer
flax seed
lemon
onion
soy - thru foods
You can google search more foods to lower estrogen, and if you have any body fat (tummy as you mentioned) estrogen may be in excess already.

I would say cancer can remain hidden and I would want to keep the swami on the cancer setting. I say that but I dont have a swami, just an understanding of breast cancer. I have lost many in my family to environmental breast cancer. One aunt survived, but now has passed on from her heart issues, and I asked her daughter what blood type her mom was and she said at one point she thinks her mom was AB, but the heart surgeries (no transplant) changed it to just B. Is that even possible after chemo and heart issues? I have no idea. All I know is I am AB, my half sister is AB and so is my cousin. That means none of our parents were O, so they were either AB & A or B, or A and B.

Where does that leave my aunts who got cancer, or my grandparents who got cancer? Where does that leave my dads mom who didnt get cancer and lived into her 80s? One of my dads sisters is O.

SO a little background on my family with cancer. I will name them, but know they are from my moms side.

Bernice - suffered from breast then bone cancer. She got a lump and didnt go to the doctor. She died in the mid 80s

Ray - wound up with major organ cancer and died in the late 80s. I have no proof but maybe he was an O or a B

Ruth - the B who may have been AB had a weak heart from a childhood illness and had a valve replaced. Twenty years later it was replaced again and then I think she had 2 more heart surgeries and a pace maker over the years. She got breast cancer when I was in my 20s. She was probably in her 40s. She had chemo and radiation, and surgery and survived and went into remission. Six years ago half her heart stopped working after the meds were not working well. She died the next day.

Sally - the baby of the family. She got breast cancer had it removed and decided to fight it with diet. She did not know about the blood type diet, and by the time I saw her it was more her fighting the bone cancer because she couldnt eat, and she would make shakes. She was trying to prolong her life. She got bone cancer that made her lungs fill with fluid. They drained it twice, and the 2nd time said she would die in 3 days and she did. I sat with her while she died, we were very close.

Katherine - One of the older sisters, got lukemia that was dormant for a long time but in the end she died because of it. If she could have gotten over an infection they had a blood match for her and things might have gone better. I wasnt there and wasnt close to her so I do not have many more details.

There are 3 sisters and 1 brother still alive. The oldest is around 85, and youngest turns 62 next month.

Caught up on the whole thread now. Good luck on your surgery today and recovery.

I think onion, mushroom and asparagus lower estrogen and cancer risk, but do not kill cancer cells (going on memory). Tumeric has been shown to work like tamoxifen and might even kill cancer cells, or so I have read. I am no scientist and cannot prove anything. For some reason peanut shells and escargo fight cancer(s) of the breast.

I know you asked for someone to say they would get tested. I had a mamo at the end of last year and no one ever sent me results, and I never called. I will call and set up my next appointment at the same time (:.

As for your counterpart, Im with you. Food is the hardest thing to overcome. Its everywhere. Unlike with alchol you cannot just stop going to bars or buying it. You can walk around the outside of the store, never entering the evil inner isles unless absolutely necessary. But with food you will always find evil foods. I found the whole addiction part of foods very interesting, when I read Diet Rehab. Theres lots of good ideas on how to get that feel good feeling from other activities, and how to stop all those cravings. Reduction is key, right?

Really, you can get over the addictive cravings, but unlike alchol and other drugs, its a 2 week or so process, not a 2 day or so process. It can be treated like and addition and should be recognized as such, then dealth with. Check out Diet Rehab, even if all you do is read it at the library or book store, or order it used at amazon. Kindle had it for like $7 the other day when I told a friend about it.

All went well.the cancer is gone and I did not even need to take a tylenol. two small incisions..

.. but NOW the diabetes will take center stage!

I OWE it to the doctors and all the many staff at the hospital to do more for emy diabetes.  I was impressed how many peices of equipment where used for my little bit of cancer!

I FEEL GRATITUDE!!!! for all who went before me,  and I hope I can teach for the future.

The cancer was found because I got a cyst, and I acted on what I knew.. I made the error of not asking more questions .. I made the mistsake of not going to see another doctor for a second opinion IF I DID NOT like the first doctor.. I think that is a lesson we should all learn now!

Now keeping Diabetes up front and acting and eating correctly is a new mission for me. If I neglect that all else will be damaged and that I wish to prevent.

Thanks for all the writings above, I have not read most after the first few lines.. I am still sleepy.. but I will come back and read it all... THanks all!
