I started taking Gastro D in February 2012.  It was recommended through the FB Group that I take this along with Intrinsa for a couple of months to further heal my digestive tract.

I have noticed that I have had frequent headaches on the right side of my head, I wake up with headaches.  Nothing helps them go away.

My ND told me she doesn't like to have her patients take bentonite for more than 2 weeks at a time.

I wondered if Gastro D was causing my headaches.  I was also getting leg cramps in the middle of the night.

I stopped taking it a couple of weeks ago, no headaches, but just this past week I took a couple of them for 2-3 days and the headache returned.

Anyone else ever had this reaction to taking Gastro D?

Take less-- sometimes healing does not feel good.
One example of something that does not feel good but helps us is :  when people get chemotherapy they feel sick but we know that it IS helping to kill cancer cells.

Call DPN and talk to Nancy -- listen to what she has to say.

The ingredients are very gentle in the Gastro D.

In the protocols, Dr. D recommends taking formulas for a few weeks and then taking a break.

Most people do well with bentonite clay, but not me. So I use activated carbon in situations where people might use bentonite clay.

I started off taking 1/2 a capsule a day!   I may not get a whole lot of benefit from taking that much, but that is simply my modus operandi whenever I'm sending anything new down to my stomach. My one modified exception has been the Trehalose Complex. After a day or two of a half dose, I knew I had something that fit just right down there where I live!! And I most definitely haven't changed my mind since!

What I am going to say has nothing to do with Gastro-D, please bear with me.

When one gets chemotherapy, it is not a healing period. Chemotherapy helps - like a war does. It is very poisonous, it attacks massively the body systems, it may in itself cause cancer, and one has to heal FROM chemotherapy's damages, for years and years, I think a whole lifetime  . For example, when chemo is given, one is not allowed to take any anti-oxidants, as chemo works through creating free radicals.

My MIL sustained major heart damage after chemo, was totally miserable as her life went downhill quickly after and eventually died. I know though that Dr. D. does recommend it for certain cancers or the person would have not chance of survival otherwise. It pays to works with a good ND when doing chemo.

My point was that something that feels bad ends up doing something good in a very general sense-- ( not that chemo is good for you).

Maybe you can come up with your own example on something that feels bad but creates positive change. How about getting an education-- it can be painful for many of us but in the end we learn and grow.

Try and see the big picture rather then the exact example.
