I spent the better part of a day fussing around with my food list making it aloha.. drove myself batty.. until I put it in notebook to clear .. I like to mess with my mind sometimes..
but the result is great.. I have a few super beneficials which I see as medicinal quality foods for me. I cant wait to focus on them when shopping along with Beneficials. --- By comparisons, only a few 'neutrals' interest my taste buds at all.
Proteins meat and eggs like always.. Beet Greens ◊ Celery ◊ Juice ◊ Collard Greens ◊ Dandelion Greens ◊............. love the juice Escarole ◊ Fiddlehead Fern ◊............. need to find it in stores Kohlrabi ◊ Onion, all types ◊ Parsley ◊ Peppers Cili ◊ Jalapeño ◊ Spinach ◊
Berries Elderberries / Juice ◊ I wish to buy some fresh or frozen Fruit Guava ◊ same with this I can only find in cans..
Beans Artichoke Pasta ◊ who would have thought so? Beans Carob ◊ very soothing to belly, 25 calories/filling Swami OK for my O : Cheese Quark Cheese Ben swami OK for my O Grain Essene Bread◊ Grain Manna Bread ◊
Nuts Pumpkin Seeds ◊ love them and only few needed to satisfy!
Tea Green ◊ Tea Kombu ◊ tea............................ what does it taste like? Tea Kukicha, Bancha ◊ no idea what they are.
Oil Olive Oil ◊ there might be others but I don't use them..
Spice Basil ◊ Spice Bladderwrack ◊ Spice Curry ◊ Spice Fenugreek & Tea ◊ Spice Ginger Root & Tea ◊ Spice Kelp ◊.............................. will I like the taste I don't like fishy things.. Spice Nori ◊ Spice Saffron ◊ Spice Sea Cucumber ◊ how to eat it? Spice Spirulina Sea ,◊ how to cook? Spice Yeast, Nutri ◊ Bakers ◊ would that work in smoothies?
These are such easy foods and spices - I can not wait to try to cook with some- so exiting- so worth making my list. I can see where some of the spices might address issues I have, such as hot flashes... or, between the spices and TC - get rid of headaches? or at least not gain weight? |

Goldie - bakers yeast is used only for baking; do not eat this uncooked. It is for making bread...you add sugar and warm water to it in proper proportions in a small bowl and it gets all frothy at which point it is added to your flour mixture. You sure don't want this stuff 'growing' inside of you! |

I am so surprised that I am addicted to grapefruit.. with TC.. it took less than a month to make me so.. My brain is so susceptible to addictions..
I like the bitter taste and miss it when I don't eat. I make thin slices so one can last me the day. what a way to take a good for me med. |

Nutritional yeast has a very savory flavor. I'm not sure it would work in a smoothie, but I absolutely love the taste of it in soups, grains, and eggs. I actually have to be careful about using it to flavor grains, because then I tend to enjoy them too much, and eat larger portions than I should, because my body is craving the nutritional yeast mixed in.
It's also not bad in a cup of hot water, like a cup of broth. Or mixed into actual broth if you have any in the house.
Baker's yeast is the stuff to bake bread with. I use it to bake breads and pizza dough for the kids, but only consume it personally in rice challah for Shabbos. I don't otherwise consume baked goods at all. (Although I will make an exception for birthday cake this Sunday!) |

Nutritional yeast is a neutral for me. About forty years ago I was using brewers' yeast and seemed to get a really good benefit from it. But the taste was so awful I finally gave it up. That was something else that gave me a real "high!" But taking one-fourth cup at a time in a glass of juice may have had something to do with it! The more I took the better I felt! I have never felt as well taking nutritional yeast. |

Goldie- my daughter turns 16 this week and is having her party on Sunday. I'm planning a cake with white rice flour, butter, eggs, vanilla, rice milk and sugar, with a butter/sugar/vanilla frosting (and some cocoa frosting for decoration.) Or maybe I'll make it with spelt flour instead of rice, not have any myself, but have some frosting on a rice cake.
The sugar is no good for us O nonnies but the rest of it will be OK, and it's fully compliant for the birthday girl.
I buy my nutritional yeast in the health food store, or the "health food section" of a supermarket. It's completely different from the baking yeast I use for making bread. Those little packets are meant for baking with. |

Goldie there is a difference between bakers yeast and nutritional yeast. Nutritional is usually in a flake form, yellow in color and the bakers is granular and tan in color.
nutritional has a buttery teaste to me |
