I was dropping weight and got cramps while exercising.. I needed more water, but also magnesium so I looked it up.. Pumpkin seeds go a long way..
CAN anyone tell me about Squashes what differences are there among them?
If zucchini is a squash, are the hard shell ones so called winter squash? Is pumpkin (from a can) or fresh a vegetable or a fruit?

Zucchini is a summer squash. There are also yellow summer squash. All summer squash have a very soft, tender skin and don't store well long term without freezing, etc.
Winter squash have a hard shell, so store a longer time without spoiling. Butternut, Buttercup, and Acorn are all winter varieties.
Pumpkin shows up on SWAMI lists in the Live foods section. I know it grows on a vine like squash, and can be used in both sweet and savory dishes.
Pumpkin is the fruit of the species Cucurbita pepo or Cucurbita mixta. It can refer to a specific variety of the species Cucurbita maxima or Cucurbita moschata, which are all of the genus Cucurbita and the family Cucurbitaceae.
Whether this rates it a fruit or vegetable, I don't know...
