What are some outward signs that could mean you are a nonnie?  I don't have a secretor test and don't have the extra funds to pay for one right now.

Lifelong dental problems?

non smelly sweat (possibly)

High sensitivity to environmental toxins? I second the teeth issues.

You could just try the non-sectretor diet and see how it goes; that's the cheapest "test".

no body odor, looking much younger then true age is, often carb. intolerances,dental probs....div. addictions....and..and..and ...perhaps might you want to detect the thread about. being a nonnie....

If you can't afford the test, you basically have four options:

1) Follow the secretor diet until you know for sure

2) Follow the non-secretor diet until you know for sure.

3) Follow a combination of the two  blood type diets until you know for sure.  Avoid anything that's on the "avoid" list for secretors or non-secretors.

4) Follow the genotype diet from the book, where secretor status may affect which diet you choose but it wont' make any subtle differences in food values once you've determined your genotype.

Go to the nonnie club house in the member center and find the "you might be a nonnie if" thread.

I have some minor dental problems, so i upped my oral hygeine lately.  I sweat, but it does not smell much...i can go a day without wearing deoderant and no one would know.  I am also sensitive to chemicals and toxins overall, and i look quite young for my age.  I am 29 and could easily pass as a college freshman or high school senior.

The ONLY way to KNOW if you are a nonnie is to take the saliva test available from this site or there is a blood test you can get from doctors, too, but apparently the saliva test is better.  That said:

There may be a correlation between alcoholism and non-secretor genetic coding, so if there is a clear history of alcoholism in your family (as there is in mine), it should make you more curious about getting the test (which it did me--and guess what?  I'm a nonnie).

Alcoholism is in my father's side of the family.  There are a couple of alcoholic suicides buried in the graveyard as well, pointed out to me by my aunts.  All were men.  I don't know if the women were better able to hide it, or if it just happens in the males of the family.  Anyway...I am a nonnie.  I do drink alcohol but I am not an alcoholic.

In my case it is very easy to tell by following the secretory diet for a couple of weeks and then doing the non secretor diet for a couple of weeks.

But not everyone can accurately tell using this method.

I had two paternal uncles who were probably alcoholics.
Like O in Virginia, I drink alcohol but am not an alcoholic. I can go for ever without having any alcohol and I don't miss it. I have realized though that I seem to have a harder time than some of my friends to know when to stop when I drink. Since I know this now, I count my drinks to make sure I stop in time.

There are a few alcoholics on both sides of my family.  My grandmother on my moms side (almost all O) drinks up to 5 glasses of wine and several glasses of bourbon each day, and her health is going down.  Takes blood thinners and poor circulation, yet BT O.  I'm sure its extra thin with the liqour.  
There are others on my moms side. My great uncle on my dad's side died of alcohol abuse in his early thirties from cirrohsis.

I used to drink beer, wine, or bourbon and cokes every day almost until learning of the explorer diet.  Now i drink on special occassions, and exercise like i did back in high school again.

My dads side is mostly A, B, or AB with little O, interestingly.

Bear in mind that "family history of alcoholism" doesn't tell you absolutely if you're a nonnie or not. Siblings can have different blood types and different secretor types, but will share family history.

my AB husband has not been tested for his secertor status, but I think he is a nonnie. He cant handle beef very well, but he has no problem with venison which is an avoid, unless you are a nonnie. Also, his feet NEVER stink! Even after wearing running shoes all day. Also, he is sensitive to noise and movement. Almost like he is ADD. He's not, but I heard that nonnies have a hard time focusing with  noise levels , and this is him. Also he is highly sensitive to cigarette smoke - something else i heard. all hear-say, take it with a grain of salt.

Im dying to test him. Just would rather spend the money on supplements right now than the test.

I would like to second that request.  I was tamping a chipped stone driveway in May and some high-school girls repeatedly tried to get my attention.

I am 320 lbs, with a little grey in my sideburns, and was sweating away - not exactly David Hasselhoff at the beach.

I am not a nonnie myself but I can relate to the specifics!

In my practice I have seen a lof of nonnies and all looked much younger than their real age!!

Due to this fact they are not at all taken serious by doctors, family and by institutions, f.i. to get an financial allowance for living. My nonnies had loads of problems but had all shining skins! And Isa is proof of the latter.

aah yup now I got ya I think... INTP/J's and ENTP/J's have something in common as a sort of %centage measurement... we love to share and we love to give... even if this isn't always that healthy, our true problem here is.. we often don't recognize

As a nonnie I have great teeth. As a child I had terrible teeth but not now.

As for finding out if you are a nonnie, what I did, I went to the bloodbank and asked them if they could do the lewis test for me. They said sure if you become a donor.

Easy enough, although I was 99% certain I was a nonnie even before the test. I drank some soy milk that had safflower oil in it, gave me horrible rash. Safflower oil is neutral for A sec, but avoid for A nonnie.
