I have formulated this question every which way but I think I finally might be able to ask it properly ..

PC asked if I wanted permission to eat- avoids-.. NO I don't..

Here is the question: IF I ate all the beans and breads other starches .. I UNDERSTAND that I then could NOT also have also fruit sugar, nor other starches or whatever else..

BUT: if I am eating Super & Beneficials only.. so no grains, no starches, no dairy no sugar ever...

WOULD that not mean that I AM eating many fewer sugar foods causing spikes??

(I deleted misleading text )

As you see it is not just a 'sugar' question and not a 'habit' hand to mouth addiction behavior question, but rather a suagr conversion question???

Am I finally making myself a little more clear??

I'm not actually really, really 100% sure what your question is, but if you would like to eat some Neutrals, it's really ok.  Maybe you personally need the variety, and if it keeps you feeling more balanced in your diet, then give it a try.

From the general idea I've gotten from hanging with you for a while now . . my biggest concern for you is the all-day snacking on fruit.  You are keeping a steady intake of fruit sugar in your system nearly all the time, or so it seems to me.  And I worry a bit about you because of that.

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.

Yes that is my concern .. YOU got it.. so I am wondering .. If I eat non sugar foods.. would I still be needing to be eating some sugars???  How much exactly??

I am looking to REDUCE the sugar (to the limit that would allow the blood sugar to stay down.. )

Victoria... thanks for the reply I think it might have settled some more of the question swimming in my head.. like:

HOW much of anything will affect the blood sugar distribution..and what time of day--next to the protein meals 3 times a day????

( I AM sorry that I can not formulate this more specific- and for the reframing of this thread.. )

It seems to me that the more fruit you eat throughout the day, the more you will crave fruit.  So the issue appears to be quantity and frequency related.  If you replace most of those fruit snacks with some other foods that are not rich in sugar, it would seem to me to be a very good thing.  Of course, I am not a Dr. D, and I don't have the Diabetes Book nearby right now.

I am looking to REDUCE the sugar (to the limit that would allow the blood sugar to stay down.. )

Yes, I think it is a priority.

I don't understand this enough to be able to answer the question.

( I AM sorry that I can not formulate this more specific- and for the reframing of this thread.. )

My own relationship with fruits is that I only eat it once a day (breakfast), and with some protein, fats and carbs.  My mid-day meal is meat and vegetables only.  And my evening meal is meat/fish with vegetables plus a starchy vegetable.  If I eat fruit again at another time of day, it plays bad with my blood sugar balance, makes me jittery, uncomfortable, losing my sense of peace.

If I need to snack, which I rarely do, it will be a small handful of nuts or maybe a boiled egg.

But, like I said before, I'm not a Gatherer and I don't have the same challenges that you do.  I have my own, which happens to be fatigue.

Victoria.. But, like I said before, I'm not a Gatherer and I don't have the same challenges that you do.  I have my own, which happens to be fatigue.

I used to be so exhausted that I wished I did not need to breath.. it was awful..

I was able to figure out what my reason was .. I have many sleep interruptions / because when I breath in both sides of my nostrils CLOSE UP, or the lower side nostril (when I sleep on my side) gets clogged (while the upper one is closed.. little straw tubes in my nostrils help me now to get more restful sleep..(not the same as sleep apnea /but similar results tossing and turning all night--- the sleep study did not tell me that- found it on my own..)

As a B I am surprised that you are suffering.. and I wonder why.... as a B and here for 10 years.. and still fatigued?? why?? do you know?  I am sorry to hear it.. my mom was B but energetic... YET when she needed to recuperate.. she took to the bed and stayed (against all conventional advise!!!).. she could sleep on her back forever, and never felt sore from it.. and then (weeks) later she got up and was fine..

thanks for this conversation../ I will evaluate more about why I feel the need to snack as much as I do-- as a pick me up---  I used to think -and feel- that I would be to tired otherwise.. sort of like coffee drinkers who drink all day to keep awake.. ( only recently gave up all coffee (- again and again for 15 years.. ) the coffee used to serve the same type of grazing purpose, but it does not feel good.. and is avoid for me )

but I could not EMOTIONALLY survive eating only three meals!.. I would sit on the floor and have a tantrum..  .. never ever 'starved' my self so.. I always ate .. so I don't know why my 'fear' of feeling jittery from Imagined?? H u n g e r... or low blood sugar forever???? ..

back to the question : How much sugar / How many carbs versus protein RATIO for diabetics or pre diabetics??? .. ... ??     (is that MY question )

Did you ever get a meter to determine your blood readings?  If so please list some of the readings on it by clicking the M for memory, that will be your most recent reading, then click it again and again for the ones before that.  It also tells you the time of day you took it.

You cannot wisely control diabetes without one.  Will check in later!

geminisue... no- my doc takes it every 2 month.. the next one is Sept 27.. should see different results by then..

I guess that is why I ask the question.. of how much / how many carbs (sugar) when?

and when stress gets to me.. does it change it?   I guess that is another  ..

what else might make a difference.. ??

?? .. are you type ll.  I think yes..  I forgot.. sorry.

I made carrot and celery Juice yesterday, might have to dilute it with water? or make less of it.. maybe just one carrot or celery only once a month.. or .... It's been a long time.. might start up again with dandelions and find other green leafy stuff to do so...

might look again at that foodmap by PC....

I think I told you this before, but I will tell you again

30-45 grams carbohydrates for breakfast
45-60 grams carbohydrates for lunch and dinner

If you dinner is 4::00-6:00PM   15 grams carbohydrate about 8:00PM

Better to have your grain carbohydrates with your dinner, so it carries you through the night.

Blood sugar issues are very common for Gatherers.  Fatigue is very common among type B's (Nomads).

My fatigue issues are 90% better than they used to be.  It is just the imbalance that my type deals with, and I pay very close attention to how much sleep I get, resting at appropriate times, how the different foods I eat affect my energy level, dealing with stress quickly, watching the types of thinking I entertain in my mind . . All of these tools have changed my life for the better and given me the realization that I am responsible for my well being.  Dr. D's recommendations for supplements (and why) have been an eye-opener, and I'm extremely appreciative to him for his understanding of the different types and why we each have different weaknesses.
