Follow the food suggestions - adding in new, compliant foods to replace the avoids at a pace that doesn't stress you out, starting with the worst avoids and moving to the lesser avoids.  As you stop eating avoids, the body will start to heal and the weight will start to normalize.  The mental clarity will return over time as well.

Wheat and corn are to be avoided, especially with any form of ADD, ADHD, Autism, etc.
Make sure you exercise.

I walk 4 to 5 miles a day and alot of the food i ate before was junk soo, i know i have to get into a new diet completely.

it helps to just take a copy of the food list with you when you shop. compare it to the things you want to buy and just don't buy the avoids. if it's not there you will not be tempted to eat it. i kind of had to do it that way becuse i was introdused to the diet at a time when the cubberd (and the fridge and the frezzer) were all very much empty. i was actuly happy to find i liked most of the things on the 'good' list, i hope you will too!

Some people like to make changes gradually, dropping "avoids" only after they've discovered enough food they enjoy eating so they don't get hungry. Others like to jump in with both feet and make all the changes at once. They have a rougher time getting started, and stronger detox (period of feeling worse before feeling better), but then they see the benefits faster. You know yourself better than anybody else- use whatever methods work best for you. The goal is to improve your diet and keep it improved- if you make changes too fast and can't maintain them, you've accomplished nothing. However, if you think you'll get impatient with the lack of results if you make gradual changes, you might do better with faster changes in diet.

With ADD, it's important to keep blood sugar stable. Make sure you're eating plenty of protein, but remember that even a "nutritionally poor" snack may be better than not eating enough and dealing with low blood sugar. Over time, cut back on the carby foods and eat more meats (including poultry and fish), eggs, nuts, and veggies.

Also, if you've been drinking coffee or black tea or soda or any other form of caffeine, I'd strongly suggest that you keep up your current caffeine levels while changing the rest of your diet, then tackle the coffee (or soda) addiction later, once you've settled into the diet. Caffeine is "self medication" for AD/HD, and you'll have a very hard time focusing (and getting meals together properly) if you cut out the "drugs" at the same time as the food changes. I personaly didn't cut out coffee until 2 or 3 weeks into the diet, when I was pretty stable and used to my new food list.

I like that you walk 4-5 miles.. that is a lot more than I ever will walk.. I would just collaps..

I sent you a small shopping book and a O nonnie shopping card..  the shopping card is the only thing for nonnies..  


Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

today- i had rice and chicken and cranberry juice.

Oops! Ham (pork) is an avoid for "O's" and the pizza I am guessing had a wheat crust with pork sausage which are avoids as well.  Same thing with the bread for your sandwich.  It will take awhile to adjust.

It sounds like you had a compliant breakfast yesterday- that's a great start!

Do you live alone or are there others in your household who could eat up the "avoids" you've already purchased? If you live alone, it does make sense to finish up what you've already got in the house, then replace it all with compliant foods. That's a completely valid approach to starting the diet, and there's no reason to feel guilty about it. However, if you could let your roommate or non-BTDing parents eat up the ham and wheat bread, it's easier to ignore the food in the house and just start up with healthier foods.

If you really can't shake the sandwich habit, a brown rice bread is a good alternative to keep on hand. But it's really better to reduce the grains and pack a large salad for lunch rather than sandwiches. I can't think of any O nonnie alternatives for pizza (I routinely make spelt crust pizzas with mozzarella cheese for my "most likely secretor" O kids.) Rice flour crust works as well as the spelt flour, but I'm pretty sure the mozzarella isn't OK for nonnies.

You're going to have to find enough varieties of food to enjoy, and not look for substitutes for each and every one of your old favorites. You're lucky to have your grandma on board, willing and able to help you out with this transition.

You'll gatherer cats, but the chicken is even a neutral. try to concentrate on the following positive foods.

Lamb, Turkey, Buffalo.

Tut key instead of chicken.

Try and eat more fish for example Cod, haddock, halibut, Salmon ( but not smoked), Tuna.

Stick to chicken eggs.

leave the cheese and ham and bread alone for a week - only one week, you'll really get a pleasant surprise.

just use olive oil for now.

maybe basmati rice once a week.
stick to your super food vegs. no corn, no wheat,

stick to your super food fruits but go easy and try having later i the day for one week, see you feel with that.

green te with ginseng is wonderful try it

try drinking lots of water aim for a litre or two a day not too much more.

no take a ways, no KFC, no naughty food for just a week good luck

This can be fun and a great learning experience so take your time and absorb what you can.  I think removing as much processed food as possible and especially wheat and corn will help you right away.  Enjoy the ride and remember there is no quick fix...this is a great journey...enjoy.

Welcome, catsmeow!  My daughter is not much older than you and she is now very in love with eating for her type.  She was amazed at how many health problems young people can acquire in such a short time, and her health has greatly improved in all ways by eating right.

I agree about the wheat and corn doing you no good.  Make a strong effort to increase the quantity of fresh vegetables that you eat every day, with plenty of protein to go along with it.  It will get easier as you go.

I am sorry you feel so sick today.. Throwing up with bathroom issues are miserable..

make sure you drink, even if it comes back up.. .. and if you think you have valley fever again then you need to deal with that.. I am here .. call me

thank you all for your advice, i appreciate it. will take it all into account when i go shopping tonight, Having a hard time eating cause im sick but, when i can i will buy healthier stuff.

So i just took the test to find out whether or not i was geno or blood type and i am equal so now i can have from both lists! yay more options!!!!!!!!!!!!
