I love rosehip tea.. But I wonder IF I steep it in BOILING water will I destroy the Vit C ..  ?? or just use water at drinking warmth?

I like to have it in a thermos for all day - better than water and no extra calories.

Even after years of eating Cayenne pepper like spices, my lips gums tounge & throat all burn .. does that mean I am 'burning' my intestines..

Question: is that burn good? what for?
or bad? Why?

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Cayenne pepper does not show up as an avoid for IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) so rock on!

I treat rose hips the same as green tea:  Never pour on boiling water.  It's unnecessary and damages the delicate flavor.  If the water is strongly steaming, it is hot enough.

I would agree with Victoria a hundred percent on this one. I find that green tea, depending on the type and the cut, is very fast and that boiling water is a real killer. You can probably just fill the thermos with hot water, add and remove the tea, and you are good to go. Depending on what you have for tea it is just a matter of finding the right system and repeating it.

The only things that really require boiling water are roots, barks and stems, maybe some seed pods, such as cardamon, fennel, star anise, etc.

For Rosehips you can also steep over night in a covered mason jar starting with warm water or, I bet, it would make nice sun tea (just put the whole thing out in the sun for a few hours).
