My A Nonnie child is always sick. Since October he has been sick about 9-10 times. It seems that about every 2 weeks he is getting something... a cold, cold turns to sinus infection, fever, sore throat, headache, 5th disease, RSV w/croup, etc. I am trying to keep him away from avoids and he is very good about it away from home, much better than you would expect from an 8 year old boy!
Any suggestions? We started the er4yt in December. I feel much better for sure!
Might want to try this and good handwashing goes a long way for keeping bugs away.

Hi Shanamom ! If cow milk is still in his diet I fear in my experience this is the culprit, I was also celiac gluten intolerant and had my tonsils removed six yars old to attend school really! I had help in sinusitis and ears problems with BTD supplements as echinacea and collinsonia, stoneroot. Vit C supplement is always useful. Ear nose throat are a real mess with recurrent infections and antibiotics, may be also probiotics are needed. For the children diseases as rubella, 5 disease, scarlet fever I believe it is not so bad for children to have them, if they have not prior diseases and I prefer to have had them to vaccines, that my MD father did not endorse. I had only law prescribed vaccine and not all of them ! If the boy is nonnie have you LR4YT ? Wheat, common bread and noodles are bad for nonnies ! Hope it helps Maria Giovanna

the birth date may have something to do with it.. November babies are prone to 'colds'.. and this year many people have been ill for weeks on end...
do a Geno test if possible.. he may need to go a step beyong BTD.. good luck

Why are November babies prone to colds? My birthday is November 6th and when I was a child I got sore throats every month and colds every three months. As I got older, I would get sick with a flu three times/ year until I started the BTD. Now I rarely get a cold or flu.

Ditto on all counts except my b-day is the 5th. Oh, also, I got strep once or twice a year, not the flu.

I had sore throats 9 months out of the year as a child due to sleeping with my mouth open. Eating the wrong types of dairy made my body overproduce mucous. Also, sleeping on an old mattress/pillows/etc.

9 month and Valentines day... YOU got it.. fun.. ha-ha ..IN Europe e did not have Valentines day but we had a masquerade party before lent.. might be the same effect ..... November babies are indeed prone to 3 month cycling of nose and throat issues.. I had my tonsils removed after getting the measles in the midst of summer at age 9 I was just sick of being sick so I ask that they be taken out.. at that time the best decision I ever made.. (age not withstanding) later the only thing that saved my sanity was Contacts.. the wonder drug for us all.. IN FACT I AM a believer in doing dehydration as soon as we feel a cold coming on .. then at least we don't get the drip down the back and then the bronchitis.. ... by the way the item that triggers my every 3-4 month nose issue is on allergy to OAK activity.. (nearly died after I had my oak floors refinished.. )

Have you tried taking him to a chiropractor? Being "out of whack" reduces the body's natural immunity, and a chiropractic adjustment can boost the immunity (back to where it should be in the first place.)
He may need supplemental vitamin C or other vitamins.
Also, find out what it is that he's not following 100% at school or out with friends. Some avoids are OK if you just minimize them, while others are really toxic even in trace amounts.

Whenever your child is home, where you have influence on eating, feel him as large amount as possible of Beneficials. Consider measuring for the GTD; Its' a lot more individualized!
Sloshing and gargling with warm salt water morning and night help to clear out the bugs before they can set in. Especially upon first coming home, it's helpful.

Decongesting is important.. Decongesting prevents dripping down the back.. and in my experience its justa seasonal thing that can set in for the long haul.. Vit C maybe but I think even a change in climate might help every so often even if ony for a day .. and keep him away from those that have a cold..what does he get for what sails him>? .... but am I right mom never answered here??

Genotype diet, can't be done in a child. They need to be fully grown to measure properly. The blood type diet is a great system for choosing foods.
I know that massage that you can do yourself might help, just his feet legs chest etc.. Might be good to get the lymph to move through his body. I know it helped when my kids where little and sick. I would massage their heads and neck and although I am an A mother with and A child she never had an ear infection as a young child ( she is now 20)
Kids get sick, they pick up stuff. This too will pass. Having some strategies to cut down on the length of illness might be good. Like the proberry.
Do you let him rest when he is sick? Some parents still run the kids all over regardless, so they never seem to recover.
My pastor told me his 2 year old was up all night coughing, then I saw this kid at church. Why would you do that? Bring this kid out rather then let him rest? I have nut written all over my face, so I can't say a word.

Thank you all for the input. I will be trying to make sure that he is getting more beneficial foods. We have been doing lots of probiotics and homemade yogurts. I haven't purchased the Proflora for A's but will look into that. I have just tried to get one from the health food store that is very high quality. We have cut out avoid dairy items completely. The one hard thing is avoiding corn and potato when he goes to other homes (these are very common in Gluten Free foods).
He is a boy that gets lots of exercise and I am not one to push my kids when they are sick. He has always been much more prone to sickness than his younger brother (who I am assuming is secretor).
