I finally got the results of my secretor test back, and I'm a nonnie! It's sort of ironic timing - I grabbed lunch from a sub place yesterday and even though I specified no dairy, etc, I broke out in serious hives last night. And then I woke up this morning to discover that my suspicions of nonnie-hood have been confirmed! Time to go out and purchase LR4YT. I have it on my kindle, but it's a lot easier to use as a reference if it's in a physical format. I edited my SWAMI profile, too, and my nonnie status made me something like 3% more Warrior-identified, which made me wonder a bit--I thought warriors were thrifty, but now it's telling me I'm a reactor type? Anyway, definitely glad to have unlocked another piece of the puzzle. |

Okay, now I'm having slightly mixed feelings about this - I just noticed that my beloved edamame is no longer a beneficial for me. Well, I suppose that's a small price to pay... at least it's not an avoid! |

Hey kayzee...welcome to the nonnie clubhouse. Always room for one more. Don't despair about foods your are going to lose. Look at the ones that are going to benefit you. Beneficial-use as medicine Neutral-use as food Avoids-use as poison Once you get your head wrapped around nonnieness...all is good. Debra |

I am not a nonnie, but I thought that I was one before I got my secretor status result back. Its really good to have this additional info, it puts things into perspective. Once I knew what I was, I felt less nervous about eating food that I had some issue with, but knew for certain that it should agree with me!! |

Hi Kayzee Welcome to the club! Makes so much sense when you find out you're a nonnie right? It made such a difference to me - only small refinements to the diets, but oh such important ones. PT you are the bomb! Sorry for late response on this thread - haven't visited the clubhouse in a while. Nonnie, nonnie, nonnie, oi, oi, oi....... Andy |
