I was just curious as I read somewhere that Non secretors are less likely to come down with the Influenza A and B virus. |

I'm a nonnie and haven't had swine flu yet and live in NYC. I had two colds with slight fever in February and April 2009. I recovered in two weeks with no medical intervention. Don't think it was swine flu. I always wonder if living in a city is good for Nonnies because city-dwellers get exposed to lots of germs and Nonnies fight the germs internally and maybe make a natural vaccine where secretors fight the germs before they even enter their system. Did Dr. D write something about this somewhere. |

I caught the flu while traveling in Europe this past January. Before that I never had any flu since high school and very rarely get colds (it's been about 8 years since my last cold). Not sure what kind of flu I had in Europe, I assumed it was the avian flu because of the flu stories going around at that time, especially involving Prague and Vienna at the end of January. I was in Prague on January 29th when I first noticed symptoms. In any case, it was the first time I'd ever been overseas and I definitely ran into some strange foreign bug. Only lasted 2 days but knocked me right out and with lingering effects of hoarse throat due to incessant coughing over the 2-day period. We travelled to Budapest on the 30th and I missed it entirely. We went on to Vienna and Venice, where my husband was by then down and out with the same bug. We did get to enjoy Genoa together after that, though, what a wonderful city! |

By "power tubing", Isa, do you mean inhaling pure oxygen? There is an oxygen bar fairly near to me and I've been meaning to go for some time now. Problem is, "fairly near" for me means a 3-hour drive as I live quite remotely, so I would only get there once a month, if even that. |

teri, no we can't compare both forms of therapy...P T is a transcutane nerve stimmulation works also with the meridians... and have an eye ont the english version here: http://www.wellbalance.eu click onto english version and then onto the buttons above and all infos will appear in english language .... When you use oxygen th. please don't forget to go for a higher intake of Vit. C... but as a simple preventive thing you might augment your intake of the vits A,C,E and normally you won't get any flu all winter long ... |

Isa TENS is how it is usually termed in English. It is a therapeutic that is at least 40 years old. Often found with electronic muscle stimulation machines - a.k.a. EMS machines. I did not know that it is useful with meridian work - but that does not surprise me since I use reflexology as an amateur. No swine flu here - just a regular cold that a midinght avoid binge left me vulnerable to. This after weeks of watching eveyone else around me suffer. |

Raquel, your English is lovely, just like your own dear self! But I can understand how it is easier to flow in the conversation that is natural to your own mind. Good to see you anyway! |

Before I started the BTD (10 years ago) I got the flu almost every year. Since then I've had the flu twice. But I've only recently discovered that I'm a nonnie, so we'll see how I progress. Lots of improvement so far! |

No flu of any kind here in my nonnie household.
DH and I both had little colds in October but we weren't badly inconvenienced. |
| Note to self: I am me, and also an O-nonnie - I'm allowed not to fit the mould. |

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd add my two cents...I teach piano for a living and have had several kids out with swine flu...but I'm good to go. I am sure to take lots of C and Elderberry. The only time I come down with any kind of viruses is when I'm emotionally stressed--which ain't often, these days! Both in a good place in life and learning to handle stress better, AND take better care of myself! I don't think I've even had a cold in well over a year and I am exposed almost daily. |
