Hey All Just went online to check the status of the secretor test for myself and my partner, and can confirm that we are both nonnies! All through the BTD, we both avidly avoided (even contemplating) the prospect that both (or even worse, only one) of us were nonnies . You know what though, it makes perfect sense. Explains the sore throat one/either/both of us have had as a fairly constant companion these last few years - leading to the blocked ears (what did you say!) and ear aches/infections ad infinitum..... So, here I am in the clubhouse . Any pearls of wisdom, thoughts or random rantings to help us on our new journey..... AP |

Munchkin76...welcome to the nonnie clubhouse. Everyone slide over two seats because his partner is one also. Sore throats...get some proberry or elderberry tea into you. And...away from the dairy and the sugars. Keep to the nonnie bennies. Read the nonnie clubhouse threads for more info. Welcome again. Debra |

Debra: thanks tonnes for the warm welcome - I think secretly I always believed that I was a nonnie - too many correlations between my issues and what Dr. D said in LR4YT etc. Paul: Merci aussi! Ha, always knew I was special - 0 (Rh-) only 7% of population here in the UK and now a nonnie to boot. Here's to our uniqueness !! AP |

Sorry, I am new to the message boards but I must ask, what is a "nonnie"? I feel really out of the loop being that I have read this term on several occasions and on different threads. |

Hi and welcome. 'nonnie' is the friendly term for 'non secretor' status. The secretor status further defines our blood grouping. We can be A+ or - secretor, or non secretor. This is for each blood type (A,B, AB,O). To find out about your secretor status you need to perform either saliva or blood tests, or both. Check Dr D's lesson on the subject: http://www.dadamo.com/knowbase/newbie/a.htmThere is also the nonnie club house thread in the forum. Ps: this thread is in that nonnie club house forum. Have fun whether nonnie or not. |

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome. And a big g'day to you Cristina, mlom754 and Lola!! I have another query that I'm hoping someone can help with. Can I (as a Hunter) have sheeps milk ? It's not mentioned in the GTD book so I'm assuming it's a nuetral - also some of the cheeses listed as superfoods are made from sheeps milk. I've found this fab plain organic probiotic sheeps milk yoghurt in the supermarket. I'm having it for breakfast just now with sliced banana, flax meal, some crushed blueberries and a bit of agave nectar (for a bit of sweetness ). Thanks in advance for any advice out there!! AP |

Welcome from one Rh- nonnie to another! As far as the sheep's cheese etc. go, I would treat as neutral until someone here tells you otherwise. |
