According to what I have read about eye color it is a polygenic trait. Meaning there is an interaction of different genes that produce eye color. This may be the reason why you see different shades of blue and brown eyes. Green eyes supposedly result from a type of melanin that produces more of a yellowish hue and hence various shades of hazel eyes. Mine are hazel with lots of coppery shades around the pupil that at times they sometimes appear light brown and other times more of a deep green. Like, Lola I too seem to have a fairly healthy gut. |

The alkaline phosphatase on a lab report is the total level found in the body these sources include liver, bones and blood, only a very small fraction of this is actually IAP. A special test for IAP must be done in order to determine what percent of the total is IAP.
Children and adolescents have values that may be two to three times higher than an adult because growing bones and skeletal tissue produces lots of alkaline phosphatase
. I am so impressed by all the posters on this website. I love learning all these things. We are all trying to help each other. I also love the name your using. I wish I had more imagination and came up with something that good! |

Blue-eyed nonnie here... Occasionally someone will say my eyes are green, but they're usually in the blue-to-gray range. I think. And bloodshot when I spend too much time at the computer!!! |

My eyes are a sort of light bluey-greeny-grey. If I wear green or brown people says they're blue. If I wear purple or blue/grey people say they're green. Red, orange and yellow make them look grey. (Black and white make me look just ill!)
But if anyone asks about my colouring, I'll tell them blue eyes, brown hair. |

I've not been here in a while. But I thought I'd note that my eyes are also green. |
