So I just looked up my results from the lab and I am
dah dah DAAAHH!
A nonnie.
I came back to the site to see that there's a whole new test to get, other secretionaryisms, or something, so that will be fun. A1? A2? MN? Rh? Oh yeah.
In the meantime, where are all my A nonnies at!?
I am going back to reread LR4YT for the nonnie stuff, but I also wanted to add that I have found amazing cheddar soy cheese, and made a veggie shepherd's pie with 100% type A friendly food, and it was so good. I'll post the recipe soon. First I wanna see if there's any chance in h-e-double-hockey-sticks that an A nonnie can eat Dairy Queen's cheesecake blizzard..........................guessing not. lol.

Welcome kateland - another A nonnie like my hubbie.
Interesting about the noise and crowds - we're both the same. I kind of cringe up inside and get smaller when I should be getting bigger (I'm talking auras), and he just gets plain cranky.
I also hate being startled by loud noises. That turns me from mellow to cranky in one quarter of a second flat. He isn't fussed like me. I suppose that's the difference between O and A adrenal reaction?
Anyway, he's given up tennis and squash and taken up playing the guitar and he's so much more cheerful.
Note to self: I am me, and also an O-nonnie - I'm allowed not to fit the mould.

make those alternate nostril breathing techniques your daily retreat!!

Ahh the guitar is a favorite of mine, too. I also just discovered Yoga - this one instructor Seane Corn (got it from Gaiam) is awesome. She's actually living with OCD and I kept thinking, "you are SO blood type A" during her interview, lol. She has a great mix of spirituality and focused Vinyasa (uniting breathing and movement). I have never felt better in my life after doing an hour of that. And Lola - you're right I've been doing the yoga breathing when I am stressed, and it is wonderful to feel me relax.
Hi, found out I was a Non-Secretor in Feb. and even though I've been "eating right" for 4 years now, it was still dramatic. I've been trying to get a support group going on yahoo and also checked with my doctor. So, Hello! I hope you are out there. It is nothing short of a miracle that I am alive (and 48 years young!) so, if I can't round any of ya up Here, I may have to assume you have passed Give me a Holler

A-nonnie here- alive and well in sunny Wisconsin. A yahoo group sounds great, let us know when you get it up and running. Now, what makes you think we all "kicked the bucket"? And what were the dramatic improvements that you have experienced?

Greetings Jan:
I am 48. Whether I am alive or not is subject to debate. I do post occasionally in spite of my questionable state of nonexistence.

I am one of the few. The proud. The non-secretors.
It is so pleasant to explore nature & oneself at the same time, doing violence neither to her nor to one's own spirit, but bringing both into balance in gentle, mutual interaction.

After two years of calling myself an "O-nonnie", I found out recently that I'm actually an "A-nonnie".
Technically speaking, it's correct to say that I'm a non-secretor of O, because I don't secrete O. What's more, I don't even secrete A. So, although I'm not an "O" who simply doesn't secrete, I'm an "A" who doesn't secrete "O"... or "A" for that matter.
It is correct to say that I don't secrete "O" because I don't even produce it, so, of course, if I don't even produce it in the first place, I certainly can't secrete what I don't even produce.
However, I also don't secrete "A". But that's not because I don't produce it in the first place... apparently, I do. I produce it, but I just don't secrete it, so it can't be detected in my secretions, just as "O" also can't be detected in my secretions, either, but for completely different reasons.
The phrase "A non-secretor" is, therefore, apparently a controlled sort of language meaning "makes A, but just doesn't secrete it". It could, however, be construed, simply by means of looking at the phrase without prior knowledge of the controlled use of the terms, to mean "doesn't secrete A, for whatever reasons".
...In that sense of meaning, I'm also a "B non-secretor", an "AB non-secretor", a "gravel non-secretor", a "two-headed cat non-secretor", and a non-secretor of just about any other person, place, or thing you could or could not even begin to imagine.
Confused yet? *L* Welcome to the Wonderful World of Semantics!
Well, I made it back, this is Jan who started this 'club'...thats cute..the "Nonnie Clubhouse". Would like to reply right under ea.reply, but either I don't know how or you can't so, I am going to reply to All of them,,. Thanks btw, and just an FYI, I do have the yahoo group up and running, just been waiting for all you nons btans@yahoogroups.com for those interested. I'm going to list everyone as nos.(sorry, must be my accounting nature). #1: thank you Lola and for the blah, blah link , I'll try to check that out. #2: Thanks Heidi, you look very healthy(and pretty), and what is a non-taster? #3: Thanks Lola for the addt'l links. #4: Hi Tomatilla, a A2B? #5: Hi Dawgmama! Well, after reading how much more A's are susceptibility-wise in general, then being a Nonnie it can be miraculous for All Nonnies! Unforntunately, there hasn't been any dramatic Improvements since finding out I was a Nonnie, the status Alone dietarily is extremely dramatic - the wheat and sugar alone being outstanding there. In my case, and after 5 months, of adhering to the Non-sec.Tier 2 diet and am surprisingly no better. Which lead me to what my Real disability is: I have some kind of rare REM sleep disorder whereby all my severe symptoms/complaints come from with only one exception: digestion - thats all here in this neighborhood. #6: Hi, and thanks C-Sharp. #7: Lola - cheer C-Sharp up . #8: Thanks drive55 for the quote. #9: You have a good sense of humor there Tomatilla . #10: Thanks Zola for your input. (BTW, just doing this once, I wanted to, not feeling obligated). #11: Cute, drive55 . #12: Thanks Gillian and I like Dr.D's statement there - that's a non-quitter's motto! We A nonnie's Have to do that or die! #13: Hi Purlgirl, well like above, improvements have been all digestive - but in the Long run, the "improvements" would be saving your life, eg.not getting cancer, etc, etc, etc. #14: alohascott, Hi, woulda chk out link but it wants to use page I'm on. #15: thanks for the help Lola. #16: Thanks Ribbit, and I see your from my home, Sweet Home Atlanta! Been away from home now 1yr4mos. hoping now to be back by x-mas. #17: Thanks Debra from way up there in Canada - think only with your heart, everything else will simply fall in place. #18: Hi Icebear Ron, your confusing but funny! Ok, last but not least #19: Thanks Squirrel. Just a last lil note, I may be leaving here for a while, not to worry, just need to indeed pursue my lifelong disability, that sleep thing. Again if anyone else is interested in sharing cooking stuff(of which I don't do a Whole lot, but possibly have very helpful, experienced suggestions) and other general lifestyle, everyday stuff, please go to btans@yahoogroups.com. Thanks again to all that have replied thus far. Carry on! Onwards and Upwards with the Real Right way to eat! God Bless

Jan, I don't sleep either (thanks to hyper-sensitive ears which hear every movement any of my children makes during the night, plus a baby who wakes up nearly every hour) and I can say that even if you're doing everything right diet-wise, if you're not sleeping you're still going to have a heap of complaints. I think most of the current [few, admittedly] issues I still have stem from the fact that I don't get REM sleep.

yes, sleep helps restore and repair the body...... the muscle skeletal structure and all......it says so in the arthritis book....so the lack thereof, can lead to unnecessary issues later on.
