I would say that I caught a cold this weekend, except that I certainly wasn't chasing it! I've been feeling it coming on for almost 2 weeks -- ever since I visited my brother, whose wife was down with a bad cold, and I was thinking on Friday, "Gee, I almost wish I'd just get sick so I can get it over with". Ask, and ye shall receive: I woke up sick on Saturday! The worst thing I've noticed about this cold is that I have been seriously cranky and touchy. I've been doing decent at not being so hypersensitive lately, but failing miserably these last 3 days. Any recommendations? [Of course, it doesn't help that I had a job interview on Sunday in which I was interviewed for the position I applied for, only to be informed that the position had already been filled, then smugly offered a different position for half my minimum salary requirements . Sorry, venting....] |

When the cold gets the better of me I take Boiron flu remedy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BoironOver here there was a remedy named Influgip which worked miracles for me, but I don't find it in the web. Others swear by Oscillococcinum. I've no idea whether it's BTD compliant (last winter passed w/o any cold). |

Well I still have the cold, but I think I'm already over the hump. Used to take over a week to get there! I expect to get over it a lot faster now on the diet than I used to, but I have also been taking schizandra and extra vit. A. I've already been taking C. I would have gone for some elderberry, but I didn't know the dosage, and it was pricey (I am currently STILL unemployed ). |

Thanks Vicki! I've just opened Boiron's website and it does seem they have stopped manufacturing Influgip. I guess there's some stock left in Israel, therefore it still appears in some Hebrew sites. I'll better try and get some, who knows; I have some pills left at home with expiry date 07/2009. Thanks again. |

Yes, I paid today the equivalent of $10 for 120ml of the local "Sambucol" elderberry extract. The dosage for prophylaxis is 10ml daily, for treatment 4 x 10ml daily. |
