First off, I haven't been eating as well as I typically WANT to.
So here's a riddle: why do I have excellent size/length/texture/ease bowel movements when eating too much fat for a Type A non-secretor?
Quite vividly, I remember Dr. D'Adamo stating that A's burn up their arteries with a high fat diet. I suppose this would be doubly-dangerous for a Type A non-secretor.

Lola, if I could only find someone to draw my blood. I think I'll talk to the midwives and see if they will help me with the blood draw! I'd love to see my lewis type, too!

I know Os can tolerate more fat, but I eat several times what is even recommended for Os on the chart. I try to keep it to olive oil & butter, but lately since we have gotten meat from a cleaner source, I'm not as fussy about getting rid of the fat on the meat. Sometimes if I haven't had animal fat for a long time, & have some, I notice that I sleep better. Maybe more research about fats needs to be done. [Since we are almost out of the meat, I have had a rough time with my diet even tho I am pretty compliant. Soon we hope to get another side of beef. But it is tough for an O!]
Is it ever possible for Dr. D to have a test for all the components like secretor status, Lewis, & all the others known [except for the type & + or - ]? It would make it simpler & hopepfully cheaper for all of us. Got a little off topic, but it fits in, I hope! Mrs "T" O+ |

Mrs. T, do you mean a test that can be accomplished via saliva or a single prick with a drop of blood. Whew, wouldn't it be easier! Lola is referring to having her test done at the conference, I believe. It's my understanding that if you go to Southwest Medical College (Is that the name Lola? It's been so long since I sent my in, 4 or 5 years ago), they can do it with a finger prick, but if you send it, they need a small vial. It was about $ 125 at that time. I also had it done when I visited Doc D in Connecticut, but can't remember how they did. I wish there was a home test, but there seems to be a lot that isn't available or that falls within the AMA jurisdiction. With technology available today, we should demand it. Take care. CB. |

Vicki, you can contact South West Medical College, help out all you IfHIs out there. I don't have the number, but I'm sure one of them does. I had some of tests, but have used them all with clients or they can't be found in the move. They will send you the vial, mailer, etc. Take the vial to you M.D. Hope you have a good relationship. I just asked the nurse the fill the extra vial when they checking thyroid. I said it was for genetic testing and had the styrofoam right there with it. Took it home and mailed it. They provided mailer and carrier. One charge, nothing more. Found out: A1 RH+ Non-Secretor Lewis (a-b-) NN Take care. CB. |

actually Kate, Don, a friend of Kate s and I drove down to the SWCNM lab and had our tests done 'in situ'! a vial is what they filled...and mailed each our results a few days later, the whole serotyping panel. |
