Can anyone tell me why cod liver oil is an avoid for O-nonnies?  I take a teaspoon (Carlson's) from fall to spring for Vit D and EPA's and really think it helps me a lot with
brain function and keeping immunity up.  I know there's something about vitamin A, but there isn't very much in that amount.  Have general enthusiasm for ER4YT, but wonder about individual differences even within categories.  And besides, can 10 million Norwegians really be wrong?

Yes, Henriette is right.  Cod liver oil thins the blood, and O nonnies don't need more of that.

I first thought that from reading in ERFYT that the secretor-non-seccretor thing isn't that important.
Now, I'm hearing lots about it. How do I go about geting my secretor status tested, in Canada???

My Blood Group Book for Arthritus states that Cod Liver Oil is
to be avoided - I understood that Cod Liver Oil was an excellant supplement to take for any joint stiffness or problems - why is this then?

Until someone more expert responds, I do remember reading here that it is preferable for type O to eat fish like salmon, etc., in order to get the same benefits one would from fish oil, rather than take the oil itself . . . I just don't remember the reason offhand, but seem to recall something about the oil having the potential of thinning the blood too much.

All I know is, I feel a whole lot better using cod liver oil, although my inflammation used to be in my gut rather than joints.  Krill oil was nice too.
