I am similar to others as well, must watch the ghee=weight gain, but a tablespoon of flax/day and Evening Primrose seems to work well for me. I'll cook a bit with olive when it's not so hot. Try some things Ronnie-o-nonnie and see if you can feel the difference.
MoDon, how do you do with the oils.
And of course as someone mentioned, follow the portions in Live Right although I've found you may need to adjust them to your needs. Take care. CB.

Remember that I am a secretor so my comments don't really apply to the nonnie aspect of this thread.
Since for most of my life I did not eat properly doing such foolish things as following the standard low-fat diet advice and using all sorts of vegetable oils that are avoids for my type and hydrodgenated oils, I now probably over consume extra virgin olive oil in hopes that it will give my body plenty of the proper lipid building blocks to replace and repair all the damage that was previously done.
I don't notice any problem with using as much olive oil as I want, which at times I think is quite a bit. I probably consume almost all of it with meals that contain protein, which is supposed to stimulate IAP release.
I try not to over-do ghee. I think when I do it tends to add to weight gain. The worst for me seems to be if I start eating a couple of toasted rice cakes a day smothered in ghee. They sure are good, but by the end of the package of rice cakes I will notice my stomach muscles have disappeared behind a layer of fat. The combination of too many high GI carbs and too much fat as a late afternoon snack appears to be the perfect recipe for fat gain.
I don't worry about eating as many walnuts and pumpkin seeds as I want. I also eat plenty of fish weekly and try to eat grass fed lamb and beef to improve the quality of my lipid intake.
I have done a lot of liver flushes (something like 35), went through a 5 lb bag of lecithin the last couple of years, off and on for a while used various supplement and things like dandelion tea, and regularly eat artichokes on my salad to support my liver and improve bile flow. Along with the being compliant on the BTD maybe all these things have improved my ability to handle reasonable amounts of healthy lipids.

I have found recently that I get nausea if I have too much ghee or olive oil or even oily fish. If that mean a congested gallbladder, I guess I need to keep my fiber intake up and keep taking lecithin?
My naturopath gave me Ichol by Genestra which is to help the liver and gallbladder. I had to stop taking it and need to reintroduce it slowly. I was to take 2 at 2 times a day and it is too strong on my intestines. I am hoping this will help my congestion problem. I also need to take Betain HCL but need to be careful not to take too much of that either depending on the meal.
Listening to our bodies is a balancing act when told to do certain protocols. My experience is that I cannot introduce everything to my body at once or I don't know what is causing a reaction.
When I forget about oil quantities, my body quickly tells me so and it doesn't feel good at all.
I'm in agreement. Introducing one variable at time makes sense for this A NS etc. And I also have found that the aging process affects how the body responds. Thankfully for the Live Right Book and all those after. Determining I am a NS make all the difference. Take care. CB.
