I am finding that I am feeling better if I do not eat many starch veggies. I eat a HUGE amount of collards, spinach and all of the green leafy bennies but was also throwing in lots of carrotts, onion, turnup, pumpkin and celery root which makes eating so divine and my tummy full....but I still was not feeling as well as I thought I should. (I also eat grass fed beef, bison, ostrich in the AM, and fish in the evenings along with the veggies, no grain, very few nuts, and a piece of fruit before bed). For the last two days I have experimented with mixing my starch veggies with the green leafies at the evening meal and felt a big difference. I will miss my carrotts through out the day but I would rather feel this new healthy feeling. Do others have this problem with the starch veggies? |

Hi Dewdrop, I have a nonnie gene, and I cannot tolerate artichokes, eggplant, rice, squash, zucchini the way I used to a couple of years ago (while BTD'ing of course). I don't know if the nonnie gene is taking over recently Cheers, Yaman |

I'm not a nonnie but might as well be. I'm really sensitive to starches of all kinds, even beneficial root vegetables. I usually save those for the evening meal, and eat them very sparingly. Greens are much better for me |

I usually will only eat any form of concentrated carbs, such as grains or vegetables late in the afternoon or evening. I primarily eat protein and cooked or salad greens for breakfast and lunch. |

Perhaps choose one meal designated to eating a starchy vegetable and introduce only one starchy vegetable per meal, then you'll know which ones give you the most challenges.

I also vote for having the carbs at the evening meal only. |
