Well, the hemp protein powder I ordered seems to be working quite well for me. It is really helping reduce hunger after I drink a smoothie. I drink it midmorning a couple hours after breakfast and workout. I put: 1 banana 1 c. blueberries 2 scoops hemp powder 1 and a half c. water optional sweetener: going to use veg glycerine when I gets here!
These are really good and make two smoothies. You can add maca powder, but it gives it a gritty tang, so I drink the maca separately with water. I also put some maca on a salad and it was good mixed with the dressing.

Just tried the Hemp protien powder and loved, I could tell my body just ate it up I had a smoothie with 1 egg yolk granny smith apple 2 tbs hemp powder 2 tbs flaxseed
I'm going to keep messing around with the ingredients but this was great, thanks Tina for investigating this. I also bought a pack of the one of flax and maca, might try that tomorrow
I commonly eat hempseed butter so I'm not sure why I never though of this before |

What effect would this be - reducing hunger? Just wanted to be sure I got it right. |

IB, my comment was to this sentence....... hope this is cleared up now. the fiber content in linseed not only helps with regularity but also makes you feel satisfied. |

For me, ground flax is very satisfying to my appetite. My morning smoothie is like a full meal in the way it takes care of the hunger for hours. Also, with the addition of a little ARA6, I have fantastic bowel movements (only you guys would appreciate such news! ) and my IBS is gone. |

, very true Victoria, only we would appreciate such news. My brother and I have this running dialogue almost daily, as we are both having some BM probs. Guess I'll have to get out the ol' grinder and grind me some flax. Can you get this ARA6 from NAP and would it be suggested as a supp for O's? Oh and do you attribute your IBS being gone to using the ground flax? |

ARA6 is available from this NAP store and is one of my favorite supplements. It's great for all blood types: CLICK HEREI mix it in my Power Drink and consume about 1 tsp 2 x day. You can easily take more, but I'm working from economics right now. The ARA6 (larch extract) and ground flax are both very good for IBS, and colon health in general. Be sure to drink an abundance of water when you take ground flax because it absorbs the liquid and bulks up. This helps to clean the colon, but if there is not enough water, it can cause constipation. |

Is this true w/ the oil as well. What do you put in your morning shakes, if I may ask. |

I cannot personally use ground flax or flax oil as it constipates me no matter how much water I drink with it or in a day! I have tried both and they make me feel bloated and not good! So, be careful and drink lots of water. BUT, I find that cooking with the ground flax, like in an almond muffin or the brown rice bread I used to eat, it didn't bother me at all. Anyway, I think probiotics help me to stay regular, along with the Seacure product I take. I am finding that drinking dandelion root tea with my meals is a good thing too and eating a salad with my meals is always a must, not breakfast, but lunch and dinner. |

I don't use flax oil, just the ground seeds. My Power Drink: For approx. 5 cups : 1 1/2 C juice (check your food list for beneficials) I use Concord Grape, or Cranberry/grape blend. 1/2 C fresh or frozen fruit (use beneficials when you can) I use blueberries and cherries. 1 banana 3 Tb flax seeds freshly ground, or frozen ground flax. After grinding, it's about 4 Tb. 3 Tb. nutritional yeast 2 to 3 Tb. green powder, such as Harmonia. I'm currently using Greener Grasses. 1 rounded Tb. lecithin granules. 1 tsp. Chlorella 2 tsp. ProBerry syrup from NAP 1 rounded Tb. ARA6 from the NAP store. 3 Cups homemade goat's milk Yogurt. Adjust for blood type. If the yogurt is omitted, you can increase the liquid and add protein powder of choice. Or a chunk of Chevrie (soft goat cheese), or a big scoop of nut butter, etc. Blend to taste. I blend mine thoroughly, because I like it thick and creamy-smooth, like a milkshake. Some people like theirs blended lightly so that the fruit is still chunky. |

I do not drink dandelion tea and I do not drink with my meals; however, I have been including fresh organic dandelion greens for lunch and dinner for the past few weeks and I can tell that this is working well for my body. I'm trying to be cognizant of using whole foods to encourage and promote good intestinal and liver health. ARA6 is a great product for gut health, colon health, increased fiber, IBS. For the present, it's one of the NAP products that I use daily in my breakfast. xox, Alia |

Is dandelion tea not good? I know we're not supposed to drink with meals really, but I find that drinking a cup of hot tea with breakfast or dinner just makes me a bit fuller feeling and helps to go to the bathroom. I don't know why!

Drinking dandelion tea is fine. I find it more convenient to add fresh dandelion greens to my lunch and dinner. Personally, my digesrion is better when I drink liquids away from my meals. I drink tons of water very early every the morning. Individuals on this forum have varying views on the topic of drinking liquids awy from meals. I just bought Manitoba Harvest Hemp Protein Powder at WF after reading this post. I've taken it for 2 days now (about 2 tablespoons a day) and really feel as if my body "soaked it up" if that makes any sense. I just feel as if it is being utilized.
When I did a search it had a whole lot of information and it did compare hemp to soy protein powder saying that it can cause digestive disturbances leading to bloating.

I picked up some Hemp protein by VEGA, have it for lunch and I find it is a good meal replacement during the day. Don't feel hungry afterwards, which is unusual when one is drinking two scoops of anything in a glass of water. Purchased it in Vancouver at an ALIVE outlet. |

Howard,
I've been taking the hemp protein powder for a few weeks now and I feel an overall energy boost. I haven't taken that much concentrated protein in a long time.
I use it in the morning and mix it with other powders.
Let us know how it's working for you after awhile.

So far I find that it sustains me, quells my appetite, and takes about 2 minutes to mix and drink (half of that time is spent chatting with colleagues). It allows me to work more at lunch and thus escape more easily at the end of the day. Or, even befors the end! I don't usually feel hungry again for another 4 -5 hours or so! |
