Is there a really great probiotic out there for nonnie O? Is the NAP one good for us? I have had such trouble getting probiotics that work or that don't hurt me. Are they crucial for us, and what other ways can we get them besides supplements. Dairy is out, sauerkraut is out, even raw, so what then?

I just read the ingredient list for the NAP one, and I am sensitive to the yeast in it. So, that one is out. Any other suggestions?

After trying a LOT of them, my vote goes to NAP as well, and I have a horribly delicate digestive tract. This one is really helping me.
However, if you want a different one, try Mega Foods brand. It's quite good, but I still find the NAP one to be surprisingly great for me. I never would have thought it would make that much difference to take one that was designed for my blood type. I guess I thought all probiotics were similiar. |

Have you used saccharomyces boulardii, which is the yeast in Polyflora O product, before? It is not the same as the brewers yeast you buy at the store. You can find lots of information about saccharomyces boulardii if you do an Internet search on it. |

by Heidi: PolyFlora-O Ingredients: "a unique blend of Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Saccharomyces boulardii probiotics in a base of larch arabinogalactan, chicory concentrate and banana concentrate prebiotics." Quite different from a one-size-fits (or doesn't fit) all product like acidophilus.

So far, I've only taken the "Ultimate Flora" probiotic by ReNew Life.
But I plan to start taking more of the PharmaCal products, as soon as I'm able. |
