Also just noticed the link regarding A's need for pre-exercise carb-loading, from Lola's post #15. I've noticed that when I go for a walk on a relatively empty stomach, I tend to get grouchy by the time we get back, but always figured that was low blood sugar. Maybe a little of that plus a dose of cortisol -- not a happy recipe!

Yes, I used to work out on an empty stomach or eating very little and it caused me many issues (worst than grouchy) this is very interesting indeed |

Well Idon't know if there is any difference to DHEA. But I take Wild Yams and feel quite o.k with it ! Seems to me as if there is no difference, only I have less appetite if I take it. (one capsule a day) but I still stuck on 98 kilos (better than 101 you're right) . Bye bye for now. |

Quoted from John_McDonell_O+
strange Isa ...
you say it won't work for A's ... wonder if any farmers are A's? ... first learned of this 'trick' some years ago from an Australian biochemist. It seems that there is a certain enzyme needed to digest any food ... if most of the heaviest work is done BEFORE even a bit of food is eaten, only the fat gets burned ... there is more than one way (several small meals) to control insulin spiking ....
John
I thought A's were the agrarians Yes I have small farm and prefer to check on the animals before relaxing to eat, but any heavy work comes after food. When I used to care for stabled horses I always had a bowl of bran flakes with milk [pre-BTD of course] before mucking out and then porridge when I came in. However DH [A-ve secretor status unknown] has to have his 2 eggs and toast before venturing outside. Joyce |

I agree. Many health problems can result in similar symptoms.
I suspect that focusing to much on the adrenal glands in many cases is probably just like looking at the tip of the iceberg. In other words, it is a symptom not the cause of the problem. You may have to look beyond the obvious to find the cause of the problem. |

Agreed, normally adrenal problems can be a result of food/enviromental allergies, liver, kidney, pancreas, in general poor immune functioning |

I thought there was something in the Diabetes book about eating a snack before bed being helpful in that instance. I remember this because when I have tried to not eat before bed, I don't sleep or sleep horribly and was happy to have found that reference.
That book really helped me to shed the pounds. |

I read somewhere in Dr. D's book that it is not so much important what you eat but when you eat. The advice is eat a good breakfast, a big lunch and a very small dinner. King, prince, pauper. I've been trying that for the past two weeks and the weight is coming off again. If for some reason I have to eat out at night, I don't loose any weight and sometimes even gain some for two days.
Perhaps an idea? |

Well as You see I changed a little bit. Sometimes it's better to be unknown. You' ll understand. Well returning to my Thread I have to tell You - I didn't lost a kilo I gained two and now horrible, horrible have 102. I always tell my klients : loosing weight is not difficult but what comes then ? It seem to me now. That I have to struggle further on. But never mind, thank's to bloodgroup diat I feel very healthy and fit. I think I have to quite the carbs but this is nearly impossible for me (at the moment). Yust wanted to report bye bye for now. |

Sandra- if the evening meal is a known- you can reduce maybe lunch (or skip a snack)
if unexpected evening out- eat your beneficials (low on starchy carbs) Heavy on Veggies Light on Cheese and sauces and dressings. Try to order first, because no one else's meal choices will help determine your own selection.
Most important- don't stress about it ( I think stress puts on weight) Enjoy your time out! |

massr L.P whats' about a try of fastings Or just juicing meals...instead of skipping...and why not try the algues like fucus or spirulina or chlorella or even both....and you know, if you are O around the same thoughts....it get fixed up in your mind...perhaps does it might be easier just to accept you as you are...don't give that much attention and see what will happen....sometimes we do need our shields |

Now if we intend that I have an adrenal fatigue or a low thyroid funktion what is to do ? The trouble is I don't know a german doctor near by to whom I could go. They all seem to be quite ..... well let me say helpless. Is there anything I could take eat or drink ? Let's hope we don't get ill !! |

I d propose you take a look at the 'fatigue' and 'diabetes' books...... those have more targeted food lists, also the on line protocols might be of help.....you can choose which one fits your needs. |
