So. IF I WAS born to Jewish families where certain food laws where present from day one, then I would possibly have 'learned' the inherited mental 'ability' to deal with the IDEA that some things one can just not eat, and others only at certain times? My addictive tendency to instant gratification would have been countered by : Lamarckism and I would not struggle nearly as much as I do with the specific restrictions diabetes is demanding of me in old age. Interesting read. Having a label/name on which to hang my believe and understanding is always helpful. It gives my mind a 'body' on which to relay or lean on. Building fence posts helps when I have no choice but to make changes, kicking and often screaming. Screeching, coming to a HALT of a train of thought, hand, arm, elbow and mouth open walking to the fridge or freezer. I like the old typeface, even when I find it hard to read. It gives the extra/new words more character and your meandering thoughts even more educational. (Thanks.) How advanced! : my spell-check does not recognize: lamarkism.. |

So, it sounds like Lamark was partially right. First science found the part of his theories that were wrong and discredited him. Now that we're learning more, we see he was actually right!
Although I do have to wonder: how much does epigenetics happen in animals? I've only seen it in reference to human beings. |

What "science" did to show him wrong was "cutting the tails of mice to show that the offsprings would still have tails". That was not exactly what poor Lamarck intended to say, his point was "responding to environmental changes". I was never convinced by these "scientific" objections, hence, together with a few other sceptics, founded a "Lamarckian society" in our high school years Lamarck's work was published in 1809, the year Darwin was born. Today, some scientists believe that in 2059, Darwin's 250th birthday and Lamarck's work will be praised together.. |

Will Dr. D get praised for this idea in 250 years? Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps Dr. James D'Adamo will get all the credit for starting it. Or somebody else will come along on the heels of Dr. D's work and take all the credit. |

100 dollars of incentive would be enough to get someone to crow out a song .. Peter Oh Peter I cant do without the morsels of the super structure of my diet. Peter Oh Peter how did I ever live without you in my bed while I sleep soundly, in the office wide eyed, healthy and awake, and in the kitchen with nothing but benficials to keep me cooking such wondrous delights.. Peter Oh Peter.. sigh.. and now what on artist could do! short enough for u-tube.. make it go viral with food platters showing the differences.. no end to the influx of knowledge the public would get.. Peter Oh Peter.. sigh BUT better we keep all this a secret.. otherwise who knows what hell poor Peter would have to go through when going to the airport or the like.. there are still sick crazy's out there.. what they don't know is that they need BTD/GTD more than anyone else.. all that anger and violence would just dissipate into thin air.. the world ould be a different place! |

Poor Peter can take care of himself, but Goldie no offense - we have to find a better song than that. No wonder he said no thanks. Bravo, Yaman, for founding a Lamarkian society in high school! (I was just trying to figure out how to escape school). I continue to be impressed by the people I encounter here. |

Dr. D strikes me as someone who does what he does not for praise, but because it is practical, necessary, and for the good. He seems to be living on purpose and basically to me that means, he does what he does because it is as natural to him as breathing. My impression is that he personally would rather not be in the spotlight; but have the validity of his work respectfully acknowledged in putting the pieces together and the journey he has taken or in the very least, have the so called "critics" zip it because they contribute nothing but noise that is unproductive. I welcome correction in my assessment if I am off base. |
