One of my daughters returned from a week at the beach with fluid in her ears. It's been almost 2 weeks and I thought it would work itself out by now. She's had a history of fluid in the ears, particularly when she wasn't following the blood type diet and would get nasty coughs/colds. This is the first time she's had this problem again since being on the blood type diet.

Years ago I used to use various home remedies for my kids ear problems such as homemade ear drops using hydrogen peroxide, garlic oil for my sons ear infections, and colloidal silver.

Right now I'm thinking of using hydrogen peroxide as I have some in my home. She has no pain, discomfort, or dizziness so I"m not overly concerned. But she's having difficulty hearing and understanding people at times.

I've heard some warnings about using the peroxide in the ears that it could rupture eardrums, but my kids never had any problems using it in the past. And as I said, no apparent signs of infection.
I've been making every effort to keep inflammatory foods and most sweets out of her diet to encourage healing, but I don't know how long this may last. My dh has shown her how to "val salve???" where you plug your nose and blow to try to clear the eastachian tubes, but that hasn't appeared to help. She thought her ears were feeling clearer a few days ago, but the relief has not been continuous.

Any thoughts on how to get her ears cleared naturally?

A chiropractic adjustment may help.

A drop or two of alcohol may help dry them out...  Actually here is a link from Mayo clinic that talks about mixing vinegar and alcohol for a drying drop...

My daughter is responding well to the hydrogen peroxide drops I've been putting in my ears. One ear in particular was worse than the other one and is clearing out nicely.

I was reading, ABJoe, about the benefits of vinegar and alcohol drying out the fluid in the inner ear as well as hydrogen peroxide on Earth Clinic. If she hasn't experienced complete recovery by this time next week I will probably try the alcohol/vinegar solution.

Ruth, suggesting a chiropractic adjustment is a good idea, though in our current location we haven't had a need to seek chiropractic care for our family. Certainly if it was an ongoing problem we would look more seriously into it, but our youngest daughters medical care for her therapies/surgeries are fairly significant in spite of the decent medical insurance we have.

When my son was on the swim team in grade school I used vinegar & alcohol with success but he smelled like a salad.  I use Hydrogen Peroxide on my ears when I get stuffed up.

He smelled like salad? That's really funny. My youngest seems to benefit well from fresh garlic when she gets stuffy or a cough, but boy does her breath smell bad, even the next day. You can brush her tongue in addition to having her teeth brushed very thoroughly, but she still stinks in spite of it. But hey, if it works, go with it, right?

I used to use peroxide but now use coconut oil, exclusively. My problem is itchy ears, though, and it gets worse the farther I stray...

The garlic oil I referred to above was comprised of coconut oil, fresh squeezed oil, and either peroxide or colloidal silver. I figured the coconut oil was anti-viral/anti-bacterial enough to knock out any nasty ear infection along with the aid of the other ingredients. It's too bad I didn't know all those years ago I was inadvertently  feeding my kids lectins and mucous forming foods that continuously encouraged those problems. Glad I know better now!
