I am starting a new job with a pharmacy to carry out health-screening which involves taking blood samples (finger-prick tests). They have advised me to have the Hepatitis B vaccination for my own protection, as is required by all health workers. When I said I had an issue about vaccinations in general ( I haven´t vaccinated my children)they didn´t push me at all...but now I am wondering should I go ahead with it anyway? If so does anyone have any experience of this vaccination, & is there anything I can do to protect myself against possible side-effects apart from taking lots of vitamin c and probiotics? I had viral hepatitis as a child, but I don´t know if that leaves my liver more vulnerable... Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated |

There is a website I used to go to for alternative health information called Earth Clinic. They have a lengthy page on natural cures for Hep B and discussed an herb called Chanca Piedra. There are many testimonials on the page from people that have used it, so you may want to check that out.
I know Milk Thistle is a good herb to support liver health, though I'm not entirely sure it would be right for all types.
I personally would NOT get the Hep B vaccine, though I understand working in the health care field why it is recommended.
There was a thread called "another reason for keeping healthy" that was just going a few days ago that discussed the pros and cons of vaccines you may want to read if you haven't yet. You'll find it near the bottom of the latest forum posts. |

Are you suggesting she use liver-support supplements to help prevent contracting Hep B, or as a treatment in case she does get it? |

If you do decide to get the vaccine, research a bit and find a place that doesn't use the mercury compound as a preservative. Here in my city, my physician doesn't use it, but if people get vaccinated at the county health center, they do use the kind that has it in it. |

Thank you all for helping me gain more perspective Deep down I want to avoid the vaccine..and as I said they haven´t pressurised me yet! Adopted4..I have looked at Earth Clinics website before for information..so if I do contract Hepatitis I will know how to treat it...but fingers crossed I won´t have to. I had missed that thread about vaccines you mentioned, so I had a look & the discussion there matches my own view on the mis-information that is often given in relation to vaccination and its side-effects. I am wondering ,as Ruthie questioned, do I take the Hepatiguard & Liver Detox to prevent or to treat Hepatitis..???? Either way I will just keep on being as healthy as I can be... |
