I had some avoids over the weekend, have sore joints today.  This was one of my main motivations for avoiding the avoids in my 30s- I don't want to wind up in a nursing home with degenerated bones.

I get the same way- I had a single potato chip at my son's 10th birthday party in November and I was in pain for a week. NOT worth it!

Corn makes me feel like I have the flu, but other avoids give me joint pain.  Wheat gives me migraine - really bad migraine.  It really isn't worth it.

Potato, in any form, makes my joints swell; especially my knees and ankles.

I think I have convinced my husband to avoid nightshades for a while. He loves tomatoes and jalapenos and potatoes, all of which are avoids for A's anyway (which he is). His joints are hurting him more and more. The last few years he has planted lots of tomatoes and jalapenos. None this year, but he still would eat jalapenos from the store. He is willing to stop and see. I told him that he has done a lot of damage to his joints over a lifetime, but he shouldn't make it worse.

O in VA - Since I gave up cola drinks (high fructose corn syrup) over a year ago, I find that I don't have as much sinus trouble. In fact, after reading all the posts recently about corn, I have avoided it to see how my body responds.

My body can tolerate small amounts of fresh corn, but anything corn-derived, forget about it! I read ingredients as a matter of course.

That's great!  I used to suffer terribly from seasonal allergy problems - sinus "infection" (I'm not so sure about that now, they always say "infection" when they don't know what it is and throw antibiotics at you "just in case") and respiratory ailments - but I'm much better now.  A few weeks ago I was suffering from something or other for the first time in ages, but it cleared up.  Even still, I wasn't as sick as I used to get.  Not sure what that was, but at least these things are few and far between now.

My FatherinLaw is literally crippled from arthritis, yet grew & ate tomatoes every day...topped with generous serves of sugar
Hope the change helps your husband
