I am 29, 5'5", and 98 lbs. I have always been thin, but due to eating poorly throughout my teens and early twenties, I have a lot of excess belly fat. My numbers for skin-fold tests and percent body fat tests were always high and I've also had high cholesterol since I was 12. I wish I knew about TBD a lot sooner! My dilemma is this: Because I am thin everywhere else, I don't know how to target *just* the belly fat without losing weight all over. My arms and legs are so lanky, but my belly is a different story. When I'm full or bloated, my belly sticks out farther than my butt - very embarrassing. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated! Thank you! |

You might look at Tulsi (Holy Basil)-- Dr. D mentions it in the BTD Encyclopedia for cortisol/stress reduction for type A. Truly miraculous for me. Check out a quality green tea such as the one sold on this site. I really think it helped me in that area. My body type sounds a bit similar. Dr. D put me on three cups of Itaru's a day and it is blissful. I have heard that toxins are storedin excess fat in that area, so do go slowly. Andrea and Lola are smart cookies. Pay attention to their posts. Best to you! |

I would think for your height you should actually weigh a bit more, like somewhere around 130 pounds. Under 100 has loads of health probs associated with it, including cancer. My grandma has both breast and lymphoma cancers, and she weighed less than 100. Now she is going up since she lives in a nursing home, plus she had surgery. But she was always underweight, and kept shrinking from bad osteoporosis. |

Stop eating wheat. You more than likely have a bacterial overgrowth. You could even be more sensitive to it. It seems pretty clear you are absorbing food poorly despite the fat (weird I know, but it happens to me, barely absorbing enough of the right stuff to function correctly, but gaining weight???!!? it happens)
Get a soy protein powder and do it twice a day for a week, then once a day, everyday, in the morning. You need more protein, for muscle, for your body to relax and regulate blood sugar, for everything. It will keep you more regular too (keep things moving).
Get Polyflora A.
Try to keep stress low, Cortiguard would be good. You mind find benefits from Histone Ultra as well. Cortiguard is anti-stress. Histone Ultra helps ease the mind and benefit regular thyroid operation in Type A's.
As recommended Yoga would be ideal for exercise. |
