Yesterday I did it with too much leaves and I felt a little antsy and my night was initially very difficult. It was a little more bitter but this did not deter me to drink all my tea. It was a earl grey bergamot indian green darjeling, today sencha also strong but I guess it is lighter in theine ! I drink six-eight cups a day, hot in winter, cold in Summer |

I'll second that emotion (Smokey Robinson & The Miracles/1967)! My favorite is Gunpowder Green Tea. |

Trying to figure out a way to make a matcha green tea latte, no dairy.....but I need to get the matcha powder first. I had one with dairy (avoid, I know) on my last road trip and it was relaxingly helpful with staying awake for the final hours of driving. Pretty sure it is the theanine in it that was so good, and the green chlorophyll. |

Hey, I want this recipe! Also, wanted to say that I finally was honest with myself and had support change my SWAMI caffeine sensitivity to "Sensitive". I quit coffee this past weekend after having had it since my early 20's. I'm a Mr. Itaru's Green Tea fan! It is just the amount of perk I need in the morning, and the anti-cancer effects of green tea will be better for me than coffee so this is a win-win for my health. |

I love my green tea, too, but I have to doctor it up to get it down in the morning as it makes me feel queasy on an empty stomach. I use a Stash organice green tea with ginger & lemongrass, and I add a squeeze of lime juice and a teaspoon of agave. Lately, I've been adding some acai powder as well, which gives it a tart/berry earthy flavor. I wonder how much caffeine is in green tea (I don't drink decaf) compared to a cup of coffee. I had no problem whatsover weaning myself off of coffee and getting accustomed to green tea. I didn't expect that. I expected caffeine withdrawl headaches, but I didn't have them. |

Coffee has a LOT more caffeine that green tea. A cup of coffee can have up to 200mg of caffeine depending on the beans, a cup of green tea is only about 50mg of caffeine. And, you know, I didn't have the withdrawal headaches either. I think it was because I was already 100% compliant for 3 weeks and my body was already used to taking things away from it. Week one of the diet had some headaches as I was removing bad foods from my diet. Had to keep the coffee during that time just to keep sane for a while. Don't even miss it now. |

Try making your green tea this way to almost totally reduce the caffeine content. Steep for 40 seconds and dispose of the brew. Steep tea leaves again for 3 minutes and drink. |

I can't drink green tea on an empty stomach. I have a "mocha mate" (yerba mate with cocoa powder, blackstrap molasses, and homemade rice milk) most mornings, and then I have my green tea with or just after eating breakfast. |

Do you also reduce the benefits (polyphenols, etc.) of green tea by doing that? I presume not, or you wouldn't do it? |

Slap the bag on your lips after too. Apparently it makes them very soft and will heal dry chapped lips. |

I used to think that. But the owner of Tillerman Tea says that's not true. The only way to have less caffeine is make it weaker. |

I didn't have a problem either, even before I was drinking the green tea. Conversely, I never noticed caffeine giving me a boost or keeping me awake. Guess some of us a truly not caffeine sensitive. |

I find that green tea is much more energizing than coffee. I get a big rush from coffee and then a crash. Makes my saliva sour and hot. Even the high is jittery and not focused, makes me want to walk it off or jump around. This does not happen with green tea for me. It is energizing and gives me more focus. |

I actually think I am a bit caffeine sensitive, but not a lot. I think I had to get away from coffee to realize it, though. Back in the days when I drank coffee, ate a lot of sugar, wheat, corn, and other junk, I was always hopped up on junk foods so I didn't notice caffeine sensitivity, it was all in the mix. I had, and still have, a hard time deciding which box to tick on swami for caffeine sensitivity. If I don't get my morning cup of green tea, I miss it later, just like I got a headache in the afternoon if I did not have my morning cup of coffee. But thinking about it...I don't miss coffee at all. I make my DH coffee all the time and it never tempts me. |

Yes, that's true! Green tea is a more stable, gentler energizer. And it's clean. I think the post-coffee crash in my case, however, might have had something to do with milk & sugar in my coffee (and often a piece of coffee cake to go with it!). |

As a NewB to this forum I'm currently researching all the health products I already had on my shelf to see if they are compatible to my blood type. That search eventually brought me to this thread.
I'm currently drinking some really great organic matcha and sencha green teas. Both are of the high quality, expensive variety but accordingly very sweet and smooth with a noticable difference in taste When I say expensive, it's still very much affordable and much cheaper than say the guy(used to be me) who has his daily cup of Starbucks coffee.
I can have two cups of sencha and two matcha shots daily for less than $2 at home and I thoroughly enjoy each experience. One thing about the green teas is that I can drink them straight with no added sugar or cream, which was something I was never able to pull of with coffee.
So far my research on the site has shown that green teas are OK for a B and I was really happy to hear that. Now I need to check out my Chlorella, chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, spirulina etc etc and make sure everything is compatible for a B plus, secretor unknown.
Most of the info is somewhere in the archives and one has to dig a little, but hey that's and enjoyable and educational experience.
Cheers!

http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/typeindexer.htmThe typebase (link above) will help you with some of those items. Anything considered a "food" is listed, although supplements are not in the typebase. Another place to look is in the supplements for sale on this site http://www.4yourtype.com/products.asp?dept=30 Anything that's an ingredient in a product reccomended for your blood type should be OK. There are "type B products" and "good for all types" products, and it's safe to assume that any ingredient in any of those products should be OK for Bs. |
