Most likely a career that I can do alone..like scientific research, art, or photography..writing..  I prefer to work independently.  Is that an A thing?

Not sure. I like to work independently, but also with a group to bounce ideas off.

Dr. D talks a bit about As alone time being a prime need.  And how yoga is good for As.  I am in sales (have been for 20+ years) and I think I gravitate to it as I think if it as work... I have continued to get better at it over the years and I like to think my natural talents continue to improve with less work on my part while the work talents improve through/with my work!    Hope this helps your perspective if you are not in a job with as much alone time as you might like!

I work as a medical secretary.. being pulled in 10 different directions often.  I was in Budget and I made a big mistake and bid out of my department because my director got fired and I thought they were going to lay me off and ...and I panicked and bid on a secretary job in Pediatrics.
I was then stuck. I got type cast as a secretary and I couldn't get back into budget. BIG mistake..and very angry at myself for panicking. I jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. Now I'm really stuck because the university keeps having layoffs and I need to keep my job.

Gettin' there..    I think you hit my nerve that had to do with trying to get out of the current job I was in ..for years..  I've been trying to bid out..of my department..and it's been one thing after another ....mostly job lay offs..then our university had a big scandle..then the Feds stepped in ...then more lay offs.. then the economy crashed...more layoffs... so you see my dilemma? Plus I don't have that college degree..so working in a university without a college degree is not desirable.  I've been going to college off an on and I'm getting there...slowly.  
So I took out my anger on you when really I'm angry at myself.. oops.

I agree totally. I have to have my alone time ...it's the most important thing to me to handle my stress.  I can't do a job where there'd be 8 hours of constant interaction with people. B's are good for that.. they are so social. My B son is Mr. Social Butterfly...  My O son is social as well, but he knows his priorities..  B son puts his friends first ... too much.

I hope you are taking advantage of the working at a university benefit and taking classes!  
Stay in school!  Best advice I can give while also seeking funding for my own.  As an employee they are usually free (part of your standard benefits and not like other companies where you have to pay back the benefit if you leave or they let you go) Plus, when/if you are taking classes they will see you as trying to improve yourself and stop type casting you and/or keep you during next lay off round (if there is one)!  Make the you you want to be!  

Funny you say you are type cast though while you write on a typing site!  ;-p  Make the type cast you want people to cast as your type!

I am an GT RH+ Teacher and I think I lean to be an A during what I think of as "my shy time".  Funny though, what I in my own head call "my shy time" is actually when others would say I am not shy - my sales work! I think possibly most GT Teachers lean to the A side as more A's in the world and one of the reasons why I am trying to meet more AB+ Teacher pals/buddies through this site!    Strength in numbers.  Know any?  Or if you meet any, please send them my way, I am trying to create a support group!

I started this post so I feel a bit responsible.  I agree with correcting grammar in general, but I think grammar can be extremely touchy as they might yet not heard the correct way.  (Not saying you MF) So when you might think you are joking, the grammatical offender might not see the humor and you could appear harsh.  I agree with the other post -> do you really want to appear harsh to a warrior?!?!

I try to just correct with no emotion and leave humor to puns as puns are safe!    I confess, I joke about myself a bit also, but I can only blame myself for those.    

p.s.  I love NZ - One of my favourite places to live!
