Interesting. I have sickle cell trait (didn't know before I had chldren) and have passed it on to two of my sons and one (out of three) of my grandchildren have the trait. When I was a child the doctors thought I did have the disease. Too bad we didn't know about the link to nitric oxide.
This also made me think of something else. A while back I was going over results for some blood work with my doctor and she told me I had some astronomically low number for nitric oxide and that the report was wrong because I would be dead already. Go figure.
