If RH+ people have Rhesus monkey traces in their blood, what animals do RH- people find their relations?  Of course, a theory could be RH- people are made from sand like the bible says and they choose not to mix money and people?  Or Rh- people evolved from a different species of animal?  Possibly one now extinct as the RH- people took over?  Wondering your thoughts and possible reading suggestions for me.  Thank you!

It is truly ironic that this blood group system received this name because it was originally thought to be similar to an antibody produced in rabbits that had been immunized with rhesus monkey cells. By the time it was scientifically proven that they were two distinct antibody specificities there were too many publications referring to the Rh factor as the product of the D gene and the symbol Rh was well entrenched for this blood group system. Hence, the rhesus association to the system name had been made, but in fact, there is no association with rhesus monkeys what so ever. That antibody produced in rabbits to rhesus monkey cells, and the similar human antibody specificities, have been named after the two original investigators, Landsteiner and Wiener (refer to LW blood group system). I personally don't have the gene, but I married someone who did.   I'm wondering what that means...

The issues related to Rhesus differences are also covered in the link given by me and Lola above.

I was making a funny.  A "Ha-ha" because I knew the Rhesus didn't have anything to do with humans having monkey genes.

Thank you!  I read a website making the rh factor sound like a monkey derived gene test.  So now I read we are more genetically like rabbits, not monkeys?  I am glad to be set straight!

How do you come up with that we are more like rabbits? I guess if your an A blood type
Are you trying to look at BT from an evolutionary point of view?

Yes evolutionary.  Am I reading the rabbit reference in the quote wrong? "Hence, the rhesus association to the system name had been made, but in fact, there is no association with rhesus monkeys what so ever. That antibody produced in rabbits to rhesus monkey cells, and the similar human antibody specificities, have been named after the two original investigators, Landsteiner and Wiener (refer to LW blood group system)."

Please clarify?  Thank you!    Prior to reading this quote I thought the RH+ was to prove humans and Rhesus monkeys had a similar gene and after reading this quote I read no the Rh is actually possibly rabbit like?

OK.  so rh is not linked to animals what so ever...  Plus, I did read the links.  Thank you!  Just more wondering how people supposedly evolved from chimps is or was linked to rh and sounds like no.  Thank you again!
