I'm an A.  Both of my parents are A+ (so I guess that means I'm also probably positive). Both of my siblings are also As.  My husband is O+. Pretty sure husband's family are all Os. I at least know that his mom was O-.

Actually in all of Europe, except Belgium and the Netherlands, A is the most dominant blood type. In North America O is more numerous due to the origin of settlers.

Each of the five sources you cite refutes the case that

It must have been your intention to do so, I'm guessing.

Ireland is mainly O i think, go figure those fighting Irish!  My mom is Celtic Irish in decent and is O, perhaps some old Norse in her too.  Not sure of my grandparents on my mom's side blood types.

My dad is AB and both my grandparents on his side are Lebanese in descent way back.  My grandma is  B and my grandpa was A.   Pretty sure Lebanon is mostly A.

The cab driver today told me he's a hot & spicy guy, but that that he has an even temper...
So I did what anybody would do: Asked him if he knew his bloodtype.
His answer: "Yeah - Red."

I have not had a chance to look through C-Sharp's sources yet but i have always thought that the core of Europe was A dominant whereas the western edge and the British Isles were higher O due to less exposure to epidemics that prefered O over A. (esp Bubonic Plague)

Blood Book's chart is great for showing, too, what Mourant aimed to disprove but couldn't: That Jews are highly likely to have B. Instead he discovered that Jewish blood types reflect the proportions of the surrounding population - wherever they are. The chart also shows that Blacks have much highter B-incidence than do Jews.

Do note the very high A amongst the Lapps. Scandinavia is high-A country. The maps show this.
It doesn't support the "distance from Continental Plagues" theory.

One thing we Bs have always wondered about is the higher B in Scotland than elsewhere in the British Isles. Like: What The...?
