I've noticed that a lot of As and Os have responded to other polls, and very few Bs and ABs. I'm curious what the breakdown is of various blood types on this board. Are the As and Os posting more, or are there simply more of us on this forum?

I'm an O.  I think As and Os are more numerous than Bs and ABs, therefore more responses from As and Os?

Also an O voter. Thing is that in different parts of the world, or even within various parts, the percentages of different types varies considerably. This should give us a rough idea of how the population of the board sorts out.

Well here at home I'm the only A and my 4 month old son is the only O. My mom is AB my stepdad is B and the rest of my siblings are AB. Of course I'm the only one following my type completely and my son is still breastfeeding. Everyone else seems to feel healthy enough that they just aren't interested in the BTD. Oh well... they will come to it when they get sick and need help.

Let's see...  The general breakdown of population is 40% each O and A.  The remaining is B @ about 15% and AB at about 5%...

This means that there should be about 8 O's, 8 A's, and 3 B's posting here for each AB...

I'm a B...I typically just lurk.  In fact, this is my first post!

I think over the past 15 years the number of AB's has increased dramatically. I am finding AB's everywhere and that not just in my own family either.

I'm an O, but find my type to be a minority among the circle of people I know in my part of the world (mainly Chinese people). I have many friends who are Bs, As and even ABs!

Ok, so there really aren't any board members with crazy rare bloodtypes that don't fit the ABO groupings at all. I wasn't even sure if such a thing existed, or if all the rare blood types were still a subset of ABO, which is why I included the 'other' option.

My other poll, asking about bloodtypes in your household, is "select all that apply." Many people, myself included, are preparing meals for more than one type.

I wonder if there will ever be a new blood type that develops out of necessity?
