Hello, I know for sure that foods not mentioned in the books (and SWAMI) should be considered as neutral. However, if orange is an avoid, is orange oil, too?

Many products contain that - Plamil orange chocolate and also products that are not swallowed and are used only for hair / skin / etc...

I checked typebase
(http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/typeindexer.htm)
and found that lectin found in lemons and oranges is called citrus aurantium and lectin found in grapefruit citrus medica. Lectin is obviously not the reason for the following: Why is orange so different from lemon, (nearly) all of us unless allergic can eat lemons but very rare should eat oranges?

Can lemon (citrus) oil be good for teeth when used in oil pulling?

Ratings in the book are for the material ingested as food and do not apply to skin and other forms of contact with a material.

Most people find they can use "avoid" ingredients for skin and hair care without any problems, but it's a good idea to avoid "avoids" for mouth care and lip balm, as small amounts might be accidentally ingested.

I'm personally fine with any "avoid" topically except for wheat.

Yep, thank you! I only wonder what to do with ingested oils like orange oil in chocolate

You shouldn't be eating orange-flavored chocolate.

If you choose to eat it anyway, know that it's not healthy for you, and be prepared to feel icky for a  few hours or days afterwards.

Avoid for me. So harming parts of the orange are also in the oil? Good to know, ruthie.

Unless otherwise stated, we assume that any part of the food has the same value as the whole food. It's entirely possible that orange oil (made from the peel) doesn't contain any of the harmful lectins found in orange juice and pulp, but I don't know for sure, and I'm not going to risk my health to find out. Certainly there's a smaller amount of orange in "orange flavored chocolate" than there would be in a cup of orange juice, and some individuals might not have any trouble with the flavored chocolates.

Everybody on this forum is taking responsibility for their own health. If you want to consume orange flavored chocolate, it's entirely your right to do so- just be aware that you might get sick from it.

I'm late, but thank you very much again Ruthie! Hmm, the chocolates of Plamil contain sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin.

In my SWAMI plain "Lecithin" is neutral in Condiment table, but in veggie proteins "Soybean Granules, Lecithin" is a black dot. So how to relate to these two lecithins (as a condiment, not as a supplement)?

lecithin meant in your swami might be the egg based one

Oh? I didn't know (or then I didn't really remember) there is egg-based lecithin, too
