Hay  Everyone
Don't know if this is the right spot to put this but here it goes anyway. We have an Iphone App but there are people who can't pay for and Iphone. So is there anyone who knows how to make a BTD/GTD version of that app for the Google Desktop. I gonna take a stab at it but i wanted to put it out there for anyone who would like to help me with it.
Thanks
DMOConnell

Be aware that producing a product that includes entire lists of foods from the book would require obtaining permission to use copyrighted material.

Even if it is not for profit it is still a violation of copyright.

yes that is true but i know my way around a copyright infringement. So long as you give the proper copyright information when you upload the gadget (ie this gadget was created by DMOConnell and the information it provides is copyright Dr. Peter D'Adamo) then it is all good. But back to what i originally posted is there anyone who could help me with this. All i need is to make a database similar to the one on this site and a simple jave script that would look into the database and see the requested information and show it.
see you all later

My understanding is the publisher has the copyright in this case not Dr. D'Adamo.

Ok this i know. In the case of books it is the author of the book who has the COPYRIGHTS. The publisher has PUBLISHING rights to the book. Basically Dr.D is the owner of the book. The publisher has the right to make and sell as many copies of Dr.D's book so long as he gets his % of the profit from the books that are sold. That means for people like me who want to make a gadget of his stuff we have to say that the Information comes from Dr.D

I think i will take to my school software engineer and see if he wants to help me with this.

DM,

I appreciate your desire to advance the ideas. However if you do this Penguin Putnam will go after you. ER is one of their all-time bestselling books and their intellectual property staff is very aggressive. Now the question becomes, do you want to spend your money against theirs to debate the finer point of copyright law?

Also most of the time, the publisher buys the copywrights from the author.. Nice try.

Mayflower if you have read my post on the skin treatment thread then you would know that I don't know my blood type yet. I do know that I am a gatherer. I plan to (as part of my birthday next month (September)) To get the blood type kit or go in and get the blood type test and see which one I am. Hay Dr.D I honestly didn't know that you posted on here that cool to know. Dr.D one of my teachers had onces told me that as long as you give the right copyright information (i.e i made this gadget based on Dr. Peter D'Adamo's Book Published by Penguin Putnam) then it should be fine because i said who wrote it (you) and who published it (Penguin Putnam) then i don't think it will cause a problem, and if they do come after me after i said that they hold the rights to the information and i was just building a tool that many people would like then i will pull it down no questions asked. My teacher was very knowledgeable, after all he was a full bright scholar and they don't chose dumb people for that.
Thanks for the warning guys I think i might be able to get on Penguin Putnam good side.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

It's terrific that you are so interested in your health at age 16.  I'd respect Dr. D's wishes though in terms of publishing anything as a mobile app or on the web.

That's true Jane and correct me if I'm wrong but i don't think we was saying not to do it but rather be careful of how i do it. I wish they would have build it for anything but apple products like the iphone because I can't afford things like that. But I think so long as I (or who ever build it) say the right information when posting it it should be fine. As for my health, I have to be otherwise i will get a lot bigger then i already am.

Their decision to cause you grief will be based on whether the publisher thinks your product may decrease their sales revenue from the published work they own.

I am an igoogle fan and user and I wouldn't need a google app because I have this site bookmarked on my igoogle homepage.  One click and I'm here. Another click or two and I'm in Typebase. I could bookmark typebase directly and then it would be one click from my igoogle homepage to the official typebase.

...now, if only I had a computer.    I'm only on through iPhone, usually. Even via iPhone, though, I have this site bookmarked. So I don't see a need for an app. Now an app with the GTD values would be good, as they aren't on this site. But I presume someday they will be. Meanwhile I have my SWAMI linked through igoogle.

Nope, can't say I read your other thread. I don't read all the threads..it's impossible and have a life.
I work and have two kids..so, yeah..but why put up an avatar if you don't know your blood type? Wishful thinking?! lol lol... My dad was an AB.  The blood typing kit is only $9.95 from the Store. It's accurate. Believe me. I tested it against a lab and the blood bank. It's accurate.
Well good luck with the Gatherer..thing, but if you turn out to be an AB, or A  you can't be a Gatherer.

Yah I just ordered yesterday Dr.D's Blood Type Kit. So I think i will have it by next week (should be sent out today right?) and my mom order 2 so that she can confirm that she is what she remembers it to be (a B+) but shes not a 100% certain of what I am (blood type wise) So she order the kits and we will so know. But I know for certain that I am a Gatherer because i did the calculations on that.

Thanks

Got yesterday the Genotype Diet book and did the adv. cal. as best i could and found out i was the nomad (confirmed this with the strength test in the book) and then read the description in the book of Nomad and i was like oh that me oh wait thats me too. I am a lot like the girl mentioned in Dr.D's Genotype book. Constantly tired and when the weathers bad im sick in bed. Im like oh wait that's me. This is my mom too. I decided to change my Avatar to B for now (until my kit comes next week and i can  know for certain what it is) because my mom is B+ and is a Nomad and since im very much like my mom health wise i decided to go with that. Hopefully i won't have another avatar change.   I can't wait to get started on the BTD/GTD diet. Also i was talking to one of my friends mom and her dad (my friend's grandpa) is on the BTD diet. I hate to say it but she could use a little BTD herself (and so could my friend)

See you all later
