My hubby has come up with an ear infection lately. He has ear infection once every year, when the summer starts. It's a recurring problem. He's an A and I read that ear infections are typical among A children, but adults???

Well, I'd like to attribute it to his beer drinking. You see, I switched him to red wine for about 1-2 months but he still kept on drinking beer in the meantime. But once we found out he is a non-secretor, he got so happy about the "lift of the beer ban" that he indulged himself in more beer than usual   Well, even though it's a neutral for an A nonnie, I intuitively think it's not so good for him.

I know that dairy consumption is related to ear infection. However, he has not been having any dairy for a while. He still has yogurt as breakfast a couple of times a week but it is a neutral. I have also been giving him some sheep milk cheese in his salad (mainly Romano) since that's the only way to induce him to eat his veggies. Would that be a problem area?

What else should he avoid and eat during this acute period of infection? By the way, he is doing the MMS protocol (chlorine dioxide) and has found it miraculously helpful... The pain went away the first day. Now it came back coz he skipped a day. He started MMS again this morning.

You may like to have a look at this, if you have not already:

Blood type and ear infections:

PS:
Even if the child is not blood type A, it is enough that the mother be blood type A:

Thanks Cristina. I have already read the article but it seems to apply more to infants than adults. Wonder if there is a difference in treating adults. Also, my DH has been having friendly bacteria from his yogurt. I even made him a homemade kefir the other day but apparently these are not enough. I guess there is just an overgrowth of some sort of bad bacteria so the good bacteria are not enough.

Maybe I should try to introduce Dr D's larch supplement to him going forward... just need to find a way to sneak it in coz he is a super sensitive taster.

Just another thought: My A son is only one of my children to get ear infections and although he was raised dairy free he did get the odd ear infection--maybe 1 every 3 years(?) Anyway, mullein/garlic oil by Herb Pharm worked every time--just like a charm.....only needed one dose....occassionally two, and that took care of it.

Sorry, I do also remember my O daughter had an earached once while we were visiting cousins. We didn't think to bring it but my sister in law had olive oil and just warmed it slightly and put a few drops in and she was fine within the hour. That is my only experience with earaches--maybe that helps

You could try putting hydrogen peroxide in the ear as per 4th Rabbit's suggestion to policymaker...
Put a drop or two of hydrogen peroxide in each ear and let it frizzle for 5-10 minutes, you'll have to lay on your side so the drops stay in.

I think I read somewhere to be careful and never put any fluids in your ear if you suspect a perforated ear drum, or ear injury ...

Hope it gets well soon.

Well I have to say... I am 28 and I have been having ear congestion in my left ear. If I was eating sheep cheese I'd be in major trouble. He might also be eating too much protein. Even with veggie protein my body has a hard time digesting it. This is the reason for my current ear congestion. Along with one more factor...

I have to say though... because we type A's are so sensitive... the emotional reason for illness needs to be addressed. There is a book called, "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die." When I get ear issues and ear aches it's connected with constantly having to listen to someone nagging, complaining or criticizing or just being negative in general. So I limit myself to those kinds of people and situations in my life. To be healthy I need peace. Currently my mother has been overly mothering towards me. Telling me how I should eat, how I should be awake, or how I should be sleeping already, how I'm just not going to know what being a mother is like until my son is born, which should be in the next day or so. *crosses her fingers*

The very best way to get an A blood type to change is to love them into it. The saying, "Treat a man as he is and will always be as he was, but treat a man as he would become and he will excel to reach your ideal of him." That is the best way to initiate change in an A. Love him into submission and he will heal quickly and easily. He wants your approval and love, but at this point has probably given up to some extent. Focus on what he does right. Don't worry about the avoids. Focus on the highly beneficials.

That's just my opinion though.

I would recommend following hydrogen peroxide, with a drop of vinegar in each ear, to calm the skin down, from getting red and irritated.

Vinegar in an A's ear I definitely don't recommend. I would say though that a salt bag heated up and rested over the ear will help to move the lymph and drain it. That always works for me.

If he opts not to put any fluids in the ear, I have just came across this website (swear is not me, notice the different spelling!!!) which has lots of home remedies.

The chopped onion pack is the traditional method used at home, the photos of the child she shows on this website are from this home-remedies book I had forever and now cannot find it anywhere in the house.  I hope it has not been thrown out with all the shifting and rearranging going on at home lately!! It looked pretty worn out!

Onion sounds like a great idea. He'll smell lovely!

Haha, reminds me of a bad massage I once received where this woman spent almost a whole hour beating me with an onion in a sock! WORST MASSAGE EVER!!! lol

Thanks so much for all your suggestions! I will see if my DH wants to try any of those remedies.

christaalyssaA+, you brought up a very interesting point about the emotions. My DH has recently been deeply affected by our upstairs neighbor who were making tremendous noise and vibrations. He was "at war" with them for an entire week and I think this has taken a toll on him, since he is super sensitive toward noise, he being an A and nonnie no less! I'd definitely look up that book you suggested.

Another thing about animal protein... he ate a huge steak in the restaurant on the second day of his infection!   But he was so thrilled about it since I don't serve him beef at home... so I let him have his rare occasion. It was just untimely with the ear infection. I will try to watch the sheep milk cheese though. He sometimes likes to buy gorganzola to have as a snack and I feel that it is worse than the Romano? Maybe it doesn't make a difference?

Now he is sleeping like a baby after the MMS treatment so I think the body is just taking a good break from all of this. Hope he recovers soon. Thanks for the reminder of not nagging him and focusing on the bennies

You're definitely an O! This is why I love being friends with O's, they actually are less sensitive and harder to offend. After I wrote what I wrote I realized that if someone was that blunt with me I would probably feel "picked on". lol Thanks for being such a good O and not taking my comment too personally. *hugs*

With the neighbors upstairs... wow! Yep, that would make me have an earache too. I am noise, smell and energy sensitive. Living so closely to other people (like when I was in the city) was really tough on me. But we all need to learn to deal with whatever situation we are currently in.

If he ate a steak... lol... well that sure wouldn't help. Being a nonnie we are told that we can eat more meat than secretor A's. Generalizations are helpful but I don't personally fit that generalization about nonnies. I seem to need even less protein that secretor A's.

Sometimes even living "not so close" can still have an effect...talking about neighbours...
We live in such a quiet street we can hear noise from the next door's toilet...

I guess if you consider that our next door neighbour always has his toilet window open & it's only two path width's from our bedroom window (which we keep shut )

He is a lovely guy (really care for him) but is Asian & clears his throat first thing in the morning & "hoiks" (spits) in the way I have heard only the Asians do??!!

I should be thankful that just the toilet seat going up, & that, are all the sounds I hear...

Dr D
Red meat isn't on your plan because Warriors tend to be fast acetylators. What this means is that they typically have trouble cleaning out certain environmental toxins from their bodies. Red meat contains Toxins that wreak havoc in the body if they aren't filtered out; instead of removing them, Warriors convert these by-products into carcinogens, which can bind to DNA and end up causing stomach, colon, or breast cancer. That's a steep price to pay for a piece of steak!

christaalyssaA+, I didn't even realize that this is a positive trait... You truly didn't offend me at all. I just am such a typical O, ! From living with a hypersensitive A, I have come to understand that I am not the most sensitive person in the world--despite my nonnie status--but it serves me well in many occasions, esp. when I need to get things done, ! Actually, I learn a lot from hearing what you have to say because it gives me the perspective I need to have when relating to my DH. So, a big thanks and hugs back!

Possum, I can't help but laugh at your comment about your neighbor too!   !
But of course it is anything but pleasant to hear all that's going on in their toilet. Luckily there is a limit to what you hear, ! I also hear my neighbors flush their toilets and take baths... but that's all and doesn't bother me too much. And we don't have windows in our toilets so there is no odor exchange, !

That thing about "hoiking" is a puzzle to me, too. Maybe your neighbor is a smoker? I am Asian but I never "hoik"

Lola, I am not sure if he is a Warrior... is his A-non-secretor status a sign that he might be a Warrior?

This is a really tough one because he was brought up with steaks and fries... For him, it's as much about the taste of the food as the festive emotions and fond memories from childhood that he associates with eating such food. If I even take that occasional enjoyment away from him, it would really be "too much" for him even though I know this is not good for him healthwise. Major dilemma.

Over time as he eats more highly beneficials he will actually lose the desire to eat these thing... Don't quote me on that! lol I am just really trying to make that a reality by saying it over and over again! I was craving potatoes today. So I can understand where he's coming from. I do have to say though that I don't crave steak at all. The thought of it now actually makes me wanna puke.

You say this is once, every year? Sounds more like a seasonal allergy to me.  Maybe a try at NAP's seasonal allergy mix for his blood type. Sure worked for BD.  If it was something he ate wouldn't it happen at different times of the year?

Allergies, possibly but,

In Spring time, the liver/gall bladder is dominant. If that is weak, consider a cleanse.

...Different seasons, different reasons for ear problems, according to Chinese medicine.

Consider finding the cause through Chinese medicine, otherwise you are simply treating
symptoms without getting to the root of the problem.

it s not about being a warrior or not, it s the fact about him being an A and adapting to his physiology, whether he likes it or not.......for his good and for his health

Pure cranberry juice (water it down some so he can drink it) and lots of paprika on his food. Keep low on egg whites.

Stinging Nettle is good too.

Well our DD just woke us up with a terrible ear ache!

So, she being an Aplus nonnie, I am trying the onion remedy for inside the ear and rubbing garlic infuse oil all the way down to the neck area to help drainage ...

Hopefully that will settle her pain and in the morning I can boost her immune system with the immune boost pack ...   Any other suggestions? thanks ...

jUST SAW THE DOCTOR!  She has a nasty middle ear infection!  Usual prescriptions: antibiotics and pain relievers ... She did managed to get some sleep last night ... nearly passed out this morning though ... doc has asked her to do another blood test for her thyroid, to check it out ...

I concentrate on feeding her stuff I know is good for her ...

Thank goodness she has you, Cristina! You will take good care of her! Poor thing....I know how painful ear infections are...mine were from poor sinus drainage...probably not as severe as middle ear! Hope she feels better soon!

Since Mother's Day is fast approaching, also remember that recurring otitis media (ear infections) is strongly associated with the child's mother being blood type A. In fact the correlation here is quite startling.

Thanks Lola, .... I know ... it is all my fault!!!  ...   ... that had played in my mind once or twice ... If I only known about this path earlier ...

She is much better today, thanks goodness ....

OK, now for solutions ... we know my blood type sort of gave the kids a otitis sentence ... but that is for non compliant mothers and/or children ... too late for me now to reset the genes in my kids via my womb (cannot turn time back) ... but the kids do have a chance to silence those genes ... DGD particularly ...  so her kids will have a better chance ...

In the meantime the antibiotics and compliance food intake seem to be doing their job ...

PrincesMia, Cajun, also thanks for your assistance and words of encouragement ...

Also, you cannot just awake with a middle ear infection, good one minute, middle ear infection next!!  We did enjoy a mother to daughter chat about listening to our body, the signals our body is sending, we should not ignore them, but embrace them as alarms to act, bring up the re-enforcements of full compliance to speed healing and stop the damage before it gets to these painful stages ... she did have a funny feeling in her ear for a few days prior, but disregard it as something or other and got mixed up with what was or was not good for her type ... ahhh ... a luxury only youth can afford ... hopefully this lesson is learnt and remembered in time for whatever is or will be in the future ...  leave and learn ... look at me ... finally getting it ... better late than never ...

This is something else I remember seeing on the Doctors. Wish they had that when my son was young.

Yep, we all have to learn how to care for ourselves...  It takes longer and more diligence for some.  It doesn't take too many episodes like this to learn to listen to the body.  Some positive discussion is helpful, especially when you have a successful answer!

Interesting about ear infections being connected to "listening to nagging or negativity." I've had an earache since Friday night, and DS has been incredibly negative lately. I suspect he's nervous about returning to school but won't admit it. This particular ailment is my throat raw and sore on the left side only, going all the way back to my eustacean tube. I was dizzy yesterday but I'm not anymore.

I tried the hydrogen peroxide in my ear last night, but it left me feeling even more congested in my ear and only made me feel worse. Of course, that might have been some kind of healing crisis rather than "getting worse" but I'm not sure. I'm taking plenty of vitamin C and raw garlic.
