My blood type is A+ non secretor.  My mom is the textbook blood type O+ that he describes in his books and my dad is AB+.  So does blood genotype (Ao vs. AA) make any difference in dietary or exercise needs.  I have read his genotype diet book as well, and genotyped as an explorer.  So things aren't as clear cut for me as they are for others i feel.  My blood type says coffee is great for me, my genotype says avoid it.  To me its somewhere in the middle, but are there others out there in this situation.
What do you do?

you follow the GT values, cause it s all contemplated in that precise GT of yours

example thereof is the fact that As can be various GTs
and so on

if the basic GT diet doesn t give you what you need, you can always finetune getting a swami.....an individualized plan just for you alone, taking all your data and variables into consideration.....no guess work needed, cause Dr D has already done the work for you, specially when it comes to Epigenetic transgenerational actions of environmental factors
epigenetics and why he decided to write The GenoType Diet.

I am "AA" - both my parents are type A but I am the "textbook" explorer with a greater need for protein and more muscular than your average A. I guess you have to be careful to pay close attention to what tendencies a person actually inherit.

I have a mother A, Father O. In Swami I answered that I am not caffeine sensitive and coffee is a diamond for me.

Perhaps that makes the difference?

I thought perhaps if Easy E, entered Swami, coffee will come out as a diamond as well, seeing how she's A nonnie as well.

I would decide which diet I want to follow and do it...  I don't mix the different diet food values...  I find the GTD diet fits my body better, so I stick with it in all of the ratings.  Fortunately, coffee is an avoid for me on both diets, so I don't have to attempt to drink the vile stuff.

You basically have three choices: follow the BTD, follow the GTD, or get a SWAMI (computerized software the calculates your perfect diet, a blend of GTD and BTD blended for your specific needs.)

If you're not able or willing to get the SWAMI done right now, then you need to decide which diet to follow- either BTD or GTD.  You'll drive yourself crazy trying to combine them by yourself- just pick one and do it, and don't worry about what the other book says you can eat.

Meghan,

You could be AA or Ao because one parent could have given you their O gene instead of the A.  In Ao and Bo the O is recessive and gives the ability for offspring to be O blood type.

Many A's and B's are Ao and Bo.  Fewer would be AA or BB.

There is no easy test to find out.

Here's a simple way of showing all 4 possibilities for your parents to be Type A blood type and the blood type possibilities for their children:
