I am sooooooo frustrated. Pineapple juice is supposed to be a beneficial for me yet due to the sugar in it I am continually getting candida. It seems the only drinks I can have are Soda water, which I am having with lemon juice to add flavour, and certain tea's, which I am trying really hard to enjoy (but they are not a fave). Does anyone have anymore suggestions for different types of drinks but with low sugar levels?
Thanks Aussie
PS - Thanks Lloyd for helping me get back online. |

Are you having reactions to the other sources of sugar you are ingesting? |

I would say I would be 90% compliant, which compared to my pre LR4YT diet is a huge improvement. The 10% of non compliance would be coming from wheat I would say. This is usually when I haven't managed my time well and end up feeding the family, and myself, frozen food such as fish or nuggets with batter, which usually has wheat as an ingrediant. Is it possible small amounts of wheat could cause Candida? I always blamed it on sugar. |

Here's a link listing "Avoids" (including wheat). http://www.candida-albicans-cure.com/candida-diet.html |

Thanks DenverFoodie for posting that website. Gotta say I wasn't overly wrapped in reading it . I'm finding it hard to be 100% compliant and so am feeling sorry for myself. I was kinda hoping that with the vast improvements I have made this stupid Candida would just give me a pat on the back and say "You've done well so I will let you go on the last 10%" but noooooo this Candida just continues to linger. And yes I know I am being a sook!!. |

Thanks Lola. I don't mind cranberry juice so I will try that as a replacement. |

Yup, small amounts of wheat can most definitely be causing all kinds of problems. There ARE convenience foods out there without wheat; I've seen a lot of gluten free/kosher for Passover food items (fish sticks and chicken nuggets) that use potato flakes in place of bread crumbs. Those are available in NY at least- I have no idea what kinds of processed foods are available in Australia. Potatos are still an avoid, but not as toxic as wheat for Os. If you can't be 100% compliant yet, then I'd focus on completely avoiding all traces of wheat, even if you can't be as careful with the other avoids.
I also have to wonder just how much pineapple juice you're using. If you're using an ounce in a 16oz glass of water (the way you'd use lemon juice) then it's far less likely to be problematic than if you're drinking 4oz of pinapple juice straight. |

Aussie, you have my sympathy as I go through the same with candida. The Acupuncturist I'm going to, recommended no gluten/dairy/sugar. And small amounts of fruit. I find quantity makes a big difference, and at times I really go overboard, trying to limit myself to a v.small amount at a time. Plus the Pau d'Arco tea, and probiotics (2 different types...alternate one in a.m. and one in p.m) |

Thanks for your help. We do have wheat free frozen foods available in Australia, and I actually do have some in the freezer which I had forgotten all about (still have brain fog unfortunately). You did also remind me of what Dr D said in ER4YT and that is if you are able to give up one thing then for O's it should be wheat. I was drinking my pineapple juice straight. We can get it in 250ml packs which you drink straight from the pack. Very sweet, which means very sugary! I will be giving that a miss for a while |

Yes I agree that probiotics do play a huge role in getting and feeling healthier. I am always on the lookout for discounts as they are expensive but it is one thing I couldn't do without. Without them my candida would be completely out of control!! |

Thanks Lola for sending me this information but I have already tried to purchase from the website. I tried to purchase the Genoma EQ at a price of $19.95. I received an email which said that I couldn't purchase directly from this website and I had to go through New Zealand. I received an email from them saying that I could purchase the above product from them at a cost of $79.80!!!!. I emailed them to say 'forget it!!' The Aussie dollar & American dollar are pretty close. This price is ridiculous and the main question is why can't we purchase directly from here??? Sorry if I sound emotional but it did get my goat up!!! |

At least you can be 100% compliant with that Sorry couldn't resist that... Hope you get that candida under control |

Mybe they made a mistake and quoted for more than one packet. They are a reasonable price in the uk taking into account the exchange rate. |

cause shipping and handling prices are high..... a distributor however, pays very high costs for registering each supplement before the health authorities in the country......it is a very complicated transaction.... |

Mikeo will have insight into this, although the Canadian system will likely be set up easiest for an American product.
This is not necessarily true in NZ; the trade focus is not nearly so one-sided, I am sure!
Dittos, on the wheat, Aussie.
If you are looking for frozen processed food (which are going to be loaded with polyamines at the best of times), take ones with rice as the carb. Frozen is not the best means of preservation, but leafy and pod veggies do not do as poorly with it.
The best would be to arrange your buying and eating habits so that frozen foods do not appear on your table. It will be a long time before I could possibly manage this, but having a long term goal helps you keep a sense of perspective. |

We have some good naturopaths here in Australia. I would go and see one here, many have experience with treating candida. You could also do a 'complete digestive stool analysis' through Healthscope. That would tell you exactly what types of problems you have and how to fix them. |
