Paul Clucas was wondering about this.  Many of us might not know our spouse's secretor status, so I didn't list every option available.

What I have been wondering is if Hunter females have more male babies.. or Hunter males have more male babies?

Just an observation.

two nonnie gathers one nonnie female daughter.

Male/female is accutally dependent on the balance of the female mucus.

The mucus acts as a chemical gateway, permitting or restricting fertility and there can be selectivity in the  permitting dependent on events.

We have difficulty conceiving, at least part of that is due to her cycle history.

My original remark was intended to be about the psychological element of wanting children.  Whether mainly conscious or unconscious,  there is a dynastic drive in me.  I was wondering if kind of drive was randomly spread among secretors, and non-secretors.  The number of children of parents in a large study that discriminated secretor status would tell us if there is any bias.

I don't know my secretor status but I strongly suspect secretor. My daughter's bio dad isn't interested in finding out his secretor status right now, and I have absolutely no way of finding out DS' bio dad's secretor status (or even his blood type, for that matter.)

I certainly haven't had any fertility problems (unless you count surprise pregnancies as "problems.") DD1 was "oh, wow! I'm already pg? I thought this would take a few months!" and the next two were complete surprises.

You probably also want to take the couple's age into account when looking at fertility. A 22yo is going to have an easier time getting pg than that same woman at 35 or 40. Did I have an easy time getting pg because I'm naturally fertile, or because I had my kids so young?

I got pregnant right away with our son (very little effort). I'm a nonnie and I don't know for sure, but suspect my husband to be a secretor (he's A pos. as well).
We have not prevented in 2.5 years and still have not conceived a second time.
Well, actually we had one that didn't take in Feb. (very early miscarriage). I don't
know what the deal is. Maybe we're not trying hard enough?

Somebody else in another thread was in this boat. Wife was an A nonnie Teacher like
me and had a great, easy first preg. with quick, low pain labor. Then they were never
able to have another, with no answer to why.

To comment about the psychological element of wanting children: my doctor has asked
me several times (as have others) if I really want a second. I do feel like the issues
are more psychological sometimes. I REALLY want more than one kid, especially so my son can have a sibling, but it's getting so much easier now with him. I think maybe when you're ready in your head it happens? Just don't want the older one to be able to babysit the newborn Hope this helps at least a little...

That's kind of the way it was for my DH. He always said he didn't want kids and then he started thinking maybe kids would be nice and bam! I was pregnant.

I think we qualify as not very fertile. 22 years  w/no BC have only resulted in one MC and one term pregnancy. Both within the same year.

I don't know his secretor status, just that he is A+. Both the kids are A+ nonnies.

Oh, sorry, Paul.  I misunderstood.  You meant desire to have them, not ability to conceive them?

We are both secretors and very fertile.

BUT truth is while I am very fertile (got good periods,hormones, good eggs- no pcos)
I´ve developed blocked tubes so I´ll need IVF if I want to get pregnant today
I still do.... but am too brooke to start treatment.

I can't answer the question as I don't have any children. Was on the pill until I was35, then I stopped, so if very fertile I could have become pregnant easily. Makes me conclude I'm probably not that fertile. But I have no idea if I would have been at 20.
