Although my head feels much better since following the diet, and better still since I stopped using shampoo, my head is still a little itchy and flakey (no wisecracks please) mainly at the front of my head (on top) not forehead.
I'm waiting for some castile soap to see if that helps but wondered if it could be another issue.

Might be yeast/fungal or die off of toxins that have been in your gut. If you're seeing improvement then it might take awhile longer before your itchy scalp resolves itself. Here's something topical you might want to try. Grapefruit seed extract mixed in water can deal with the fungal form of dandruff. Tea tree oil might be effective too but dilute a few drops with water and add to your castile soap. http://www.pureliquidgold.com/the_reasons_for_itchy_scalp.htmAre you taking a probiotic for your blood type? Might be a good idea to get some good bacteria into your gut. |

Our ND told my son a flaky scalp is candida overgrowth and told him he will need a probiotic for life. It has improved since he started supplementing regularly. |

Thanks, I’m not keen to take any probiotics or supplements no matter how organic they are. perhaps someone knows a “food” that has the same effect.
Tea tree? is that an allergen? or am I thinking of something else.
Lola, you keep clutching to that catch all get out of jail free comment - "many shapes and sizes... lol
It was worse when I started using a medicated shampoo - later i found out it had citric acid in it - so stopped that - then used an anti dandruff shampoo until I found that had citric acid and a whole lot of other carp in it.
it loads better since just using water and once in a while a little tiny amount of shampoo. still flaky but better but only itches half as much as before. my diet is getting more acidic with the meat so i' would imagine that that will eventually get back out through to the skin and kill any bacteria - if not I’ll try something else - I’ll give it another week.
Been having a bit more sugar than usual the last few days tasting all the goodies for Emily’s fourth birthday party on Saturday mainly for the parents by the way (all the kids stuff is wheat and dairy free and healthy fats (don’t need to tell them do I) lol–
She is going to love the cake that Amber has made, its amazing like something out of Disney land but with Nemo and friends on top (hand made my Amber) looks so real...
Still waiting for her secretor status by the way and my swami!
