I have had dental implants for over 10 years and I am not aware of any problems they have created. I'll see my dentist this week and ask what his take is. |

Hi! My only concern is if you have bruxism, you may have problems. |

I am like the "King of Bruxers". My dentist says he has never seen anything like it. I do wear a "night guard" which helps a lot. I have not noticed any problems with my implants in the past 10+ years. Just saying. |

grinding and clenching can be UNleanred .. put a piece of cotton or gauze between your teeth and you will eventually stop doing it.. keep it even in day time if you can ..

Some people have problems with them. My dentist uses an expensive non metal one. |

I would swallow the gauze if I left it in at night. |

I am sorry to.. but I also get it that .. I had few choices.. then and now .. so just ask the right questions, and be aware ....life is what it is.. but I might research the non metal stuff.. although that is new plastics.. maybe again something to 'experiment' with.. but the life is on experiment.. good luck .. no matter what.. and obviously many people do not have any problems. and your teeth will most likely not be front teeth?.. again all the best. |

Could we hear from some of you who have gotten partials?
How have they worked, and how do you like them? Any problems or difficulties? What are the long term effects on the adjacent teeth? Any effects on the bones beneath them? |

I wear a partial Victoria. It's ok, but I would much prefer to have a permanent solution. I guess it comes down to a question of pride, sigh. I'm big enough to admit it !! I have to say that besides having to take it off at night, it's been great versus having a few missing teeth in the back. I imagine that it's also way better to chew and digest food and especially since I do love to eat !! I haven't noticed any problems since the 7-8 years that I've had it. Oh every few years perhaps the dentist will tighen it if it gets loose, but I haven't had the need for it in the last 5 years. I give it good reviews to be truthful. Cheers. |

INCREDIBLE:: Titanium has the potential to induce hypersensitivity as well as other immunological dysfunctions. One study investigated 56 patients who developed severe health problems after receiving
Quoted Text
titanium-based dental implants. These medical problems included muscle, joint, and nerve pain; chronic fatigue syndrome; neurological problems; depression; and skin inflammation. Removal of the implants resulted in a dramatic improvement in the patients’ symptoms, as well as a decrease in many patients’ sensitivity to titanium (based on the results of the MELISA testing procedure, which tests lymphocyte reactivity to various metals).
For example, a 54-year-old man with a titanium dental implant and four titanium screws in his vertebra was so sick that he could not work. He suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome, cognitive impairment, Parkinson-like trembling, and severe depression. Six months after the removal of the implants and screws, he was able to return to work.
I wish I had read all that before MY implants.. |

The problem with the alternative implants is that they are still expensive. They were introduced in Europe 1st. Then a doctor in NY did them. My dentist took a group from Chicago area to see him. She has now learned the procedure and is doing them. I have a flip tooth from when I broke my front tooth. She was all excited that now she could do this on me, but I can’t afford it right now. Insurance only covers a % of a standard implant. I’ll just keep my flip tooth until this implant becomes more common in the USA and the price comes down.
My dentist is so caring and sincere, I really like her. We just don’t talk about food choices anymore. We agree on eating natural/organic food. Dr. Mercola is a patient of hers and I follow Dr. D’Adamo. |

I am freaking out! I just began reading this thread and I have to go back and read all the links....but I need perio surgery, according to the dentists and I am not a good candidate as I am the Queen of Bruxxing....they made a night guard for me but I can't use it...the dang thing "pulls" my teeth inward and the sensation is not that pleasant and I have trouble sleeping on a good day (night).....and.... I would try the gauze but now that you guys mention it....I could choke..... Oh! there are night guard type things yo can buy at the drugstore for much less money...wonder if they work???????? Any body know? |

the little piece of gauze will not get swallowd as it is to dry,, try it and see how easy it is to get used to it.. use it during the day first then at night you are already used to it.. surgery is less of on issue.. implants I think we need DrD to see my mouth to change his easy answer made earlier.. if ever I see him I will hopefully remember to show him. |
